Good choice on the sleeping bag. That extra half pound or pound is nothing compared with a few nights of miserable sleep. Ratings don't mean much when your sweaty and exhausted, even a slight breeze in the summer can feel arctic.

As we travel to Maine from Central Arkansas via auto, just crossed the AT at Franconian State Park in New Hampshire. It might be worth a “0” day to see the Flume, etc. It is really hot here with heat index of 100+. We’re on to Katahdin tomorrow. Safe travels and Godspeed.

Morning Kelly! First, HMU on Venmo when you get close to MA if you want. Congrats on hitting the halfway mark!! Enjoy the new camera. It’s a cool piece of tech. That is the fanciest shelter in PA. Huge thanks to the crews in PA for making it so nice for the hikers. You are headed into the section of trail where I had my first backpacking experience as a young Cub Scout. I get jealous every time I see someone enjoy that section, but I will get back there! Massive thank you to the trail angels supporting the trail and it’s hikers.
