I’m super glad to hear your plans on meeting up with “forelow” (or is it 4lo? Lol). I enjoy your vlogs because you are positive and also honest about your mental state. Not everyone finds it easy to deal with the mental side of trail life. I’m glad you stuck with it through VA basically alone but now it’s time to get back to what it was your really liked about the hike. And big shout out to your trail angel for the several hundred mile drive!!

You hike the way the boss says to hike and when and where the boss says to hike. The demons are real lol. You got this.

So glad to get a little tour of Harper’s Ferry - it is so pretty! Ed Garvey was a very active member of the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club that is one of the oldest AT clubs. These clubs maintain the Trail and were instrumental in getting Federal designation and thus protection for the Trail. He wrote 2 books on his through hikes (1970 and again in 1975 but only hiked 2/3 of the Trail then; had to stop because of heart problems). These books were like the go to books to read about his hikes and to plan for a through hike back in the day. That was years ago (1970’s) and reading them now is really a trip!

I just retired and I plan on section hiking starting at Springer Mountain. I only want to go as far as Harper's Ferry, this will be my through hike because I love the Southern Appalachians and have no desire to hike any further.

Harpers Ferry seemed like a really nice to visit. The bridge and the train, the river and the views were all great! You sure see slot of deer on the trail.
