This video is giving “you’ll always find your way back hooooooome”. I feel like everyone tells you to move out of your hometown but I love it here.

I’m a firm believer that nobody should live in their hometown their whole life! You should move out of your hometown. But there’s nothing wrong with going back at the end of the day, especially if that’s where you want to settle down and have your family.

@@morbidmorgan4049 Agreed. I think moving away really gives you a greater perspective and shows you what you really find important to your daily lifestyle. Even if you move back home one day (which I plan to for family reasons), I think it's valuable to learn yourself more and appreciate/knowing why you want to live at home. I know tons of homebodies that did it and learned that they loved a lifestyle they once swore they'd 'probably' hate and thrived that way.

Sometimes our experiences show us what we don’t want and that’s the lesson we’re supposed to learn. There is absolutely nothing wrong with trying something and realizing it’s not for you. It’s not a step backwards, it’s time well spent learning about yourself and your wants. I’m so proud of you and you should be too!

Every place you live is an experience and even if you didn't love it, there are usually some good memories you can hold onto in the future! It's good to give things a go; it takes courage to try new things and also to admit when you're ready to let it go. My partner and I moved to a more rural area because we love the country and open spaces/mountains, but we missed our families so much. After 2 years we ended up moving back to be closer to everyone and our little nephews. No regrets either way, it was what we wanted and needed at the time. Would love to see your house hunting journey 😊

I haven't lived more than 50 minutes away from my parents until just over a year ago. I didn't realize how much I took the proximity for granted until I moved 3 hours away. Still not a terrible distance, but way more than I'd ever done. I'm so happy you were able to move back and be close to your family! I'd love to see house hunting videos!! Just be careful in showing exteriors. I always worry about youtubers getting stalked because they show a little too much about their location.

I had a really similar experience moving away from my hometown (in Tassie) - I thought Melbourne would be more fun and exciting and that I'd be hanging out with my friends everyday, but in reality I barely saw them and constantly missed my family. I've since moved back and it feels so good to live near my family, and the best part is I now have an excuse to fly to Melbourne! :) Loved your video as always xx

Its amazing to see you own up to wanting to come back home.. so many of us will try new things and move to new places, dislike it, but stay because of our ego. Its hard to admit that a change you made wasnt the right thing for you, tho it might have been a good thing to have tried it out. Sometimes it feels like we should get it right the first time, or never try again.. im glad for you Suzie that you could come back home and feel good about it. Its never a step back if its where you want to be.❤

I live in CQ surrounded by people I love and even though it’s not the greatest place on earth, there’s no place like home 🥰 also, your complaints about traffic and parking and whatnot is so valid when you grow up in a quieter place. Ain’t nobody got time for that 😂 places like GC are soooo good for a holiday, but not everyday life!

Reminder to make sure the water isn't too hot when pouring on your frozen windshield! Don't want to shock the glass and shatter it, then you'll have no windshield at all 😅😅 You can make some at-home deicer with alcohol because it has a lower freezing temp than water. It will melt the ice faster than water and is safer than warm/hot water. LOVE YOU SUSIE!! 🥰🥰😘😘

I’m so proud of you! I support your choice to move back home. I am from America and I moved out of state and I’m still trying to adjust. I’m used to being able to walk everywhere I go, but here I can’t do that safely and that’s a big problem for me. I also had a job that I secured before moving out here and one week and three days in, I resigned because I really did not like it. So now I’m unemployed and second guessing myself. Thanks for reminding me that if it doesn’t work out, I can always regroup and make other plans…like is a journey.

My husband and I just moved to my home town to be close to family after moving away for a few years, I really felt like I had taken 2 steps back moving here (especially after seeing people from high school here). We're living with my parents while we try to buy a house and it is so hard! But you are so right - WE CAN DO HARD THINGS and we should be SO PROUD. Love you and your vids, thank you.

I had a similar experience with moving away from home. I went to a new country entirely to do an intense Master's degree; I was super excited to live the glorified lifestyle of a student studying abroad. Plus, I wanted to get away from home because I had grown resentful of my family. I thought it would be my way out, a great decision. Fast forward to six month later, I am back in my home. The new country just wasn't for me. Just like Susie, I recognised that although it was my dream to get out and experience a new culture, it just didn't sit well with me. I went through a lot of issues which tanked my mental and physical health considerably. That's not to say that I didn't experience good things- I met some lovely people and learnt to be alone and independent (something I wasn't sure I was capable of). I do not regret moving out and experiencing what I did. And I am super grateful to myself for putting my foot down, and deciding to move back, ergo prioritising myself and my needs. Kudos to you, Susie for making this decision so consciously, and thanks for sharing. I relate so much to you 💜

You have a lot of guts for even trying moving away from home! ❤I can relate so much. I moved away several times in my twenties, but always made it back to where I lived the longest. I remember being in a place I wanted to live in for so long, but just thought it meant nothing being there without my loved ones. I wish I had family who valued living near my daughter and I! I wish they’d be a part of her growing up, but they moved away. Now I’m here on my own family-wise, but I have great friends where I am which make it feel like home. You must be an amazing aunt. I can’t wait to see what you and Murray do!

I moved from NYC (my home) to LA in 2019 bc it was my dream to go. I moved back to NYC into my parent’s house at the end of 2020. I was embarrassed about it at first too; the thing is - you never know until you try. And most people don’t even try. You should be proud that you did!! There’s no shame in that, ever. Be wherever makes you happy, whether that’s home or elsewhere.

Loved hearing your explanation on why you moved back. I definitely relate to some of it. I'm from Sydney, always wanted out and moved to LA when I was 23 and stayed for 5 years...I definitely thought it would fix my issues too but didn't 😂 I did like LA, though wasn't entirely happy, and towards the end I was getting a little sick of of it...a year ago I ended up moving back to Sydney, back to living with my parents...definitely a huge adjustment not having a place to myself! Since being back, I'm still not a fan of Sydney, and want out 😂 I lost contact with a lot of people during my 5 years away so that support system isn't there anymore, parents are now divorced, 2 of my grandparents passed, all my friends I do still have and cousins are doing the domestic thing, married, houses, kids which is not where I want to be in my life right now. So, it's a different place that I left and there's nothing really keeping me here... besides not being able to find a job (seriously if I knew it was going to be this hard I never would have left my good paying job in LA!) . I definitely want to leave again. Problem is I don't know where I want to go next, nothing really appeals to me! So for the moment, the plan is to try and save up and travel, maybe then I'll find a place I love lol

Everyone kept saying how amazing my life looked on the outside, but in reality it was the hardest, loneliest year of my life 😅 you truly cannot tell what a person’s mental state it from their Instagram! And living in a holiday destination is not for everyone. Loved this! Again, what I needed to hear! Also going to Canberra for the first time, driving there from Syd. Just a day trip for a gig, but looking forward to it 🤗

Honestly your rant is so relatable. A lot of people only see Gold Coast as a pretty place (which it is) but dont realise how bad the urban environment is due to rising demand. I grew up here on the Gold Coast and watching the Cost of Living wildy going up has been so off putting. I dont think people actually realise how expensive it truly is
