I was in Switzerland in May about two weeks ago and I am also Australian. It is the perfect place to visit with amazing views, great activities, excellent food and the best public transport in the world. I spent three nights in Interlaken, it is like paradise. I agree that Mt Pilatus is incredible. If you ever go again see of you can get to Zermatt where the Matterhorn is, that will blow your mind. Only down side is the huge costs, the most expensive country in the world.
