Howdy I've done 3 years in the Navy and I'm gonna transfer over to the army real soon deciding on 11x or 74d I was and undesignated and I mostly worked with the logistics specialists in the hazmat division I figured maybe 74d would be a good fit for my work experience or 11x for a completely different change. Also thank you for your service.

Wow. You are awesome. I was a 54B and ETS'ed from Fort Stewart back in 2001. I was the NBC NCO for A company 1/64. Chemical soldiers are needed now more than ever to train our leaders so they can make decisions based on living and working in a contaminated environment. I'm planning on making videos encouraging our leaders to consult CBRN soldiers and our civilian counterparts so we can come up with the best way to stay safe as work to get civilians back to work. There are Standards Operating Procedures for damn near everything. So we already know and have procedures in place to get soldiers back to work during a biological attack and those same procedures need to be taught to our leaders to get civilians back to work. All chemical soldiers need to speak up and advise our leaders on what is needed for soldiers and civilians to operate as safely as possible in this COVID-19 contaminated environment before more people die due to their lack of insight and training. Peace and love to you my beautiful black Queen.

Thank you so much for that and thank you for your service. you are 100% right i was just talking about this with another chemical soldier just yesterday this is our time to shine and we aren’t being utilized when this is the stuff we train for. This is one is of the reasons i decided to reclass. CBRN would be a awesome MOS if leadership actually cared about it and took us seriously

An old 54B3L here saying hello to all you new Chemical Corps Soldiers! When I was in you had to fight for your right to perform in your MOS unless there was a major inspection coming up. Additional duties was something that came with the job and it was accepted as the norm by the command. Question...Is the An/VDR-2 Radiac Set still being used? Reason I ask is because I am seeing them for sale on eBay. Gas! Gas! Gas!

new subscriber and I love your videos! I had a quick question, I noticed in your previous videos you have a tattoo on the back of your neck and so do I! I passed at MEPS and have started the process for my tattoo waiver (it’s had to be redone FIVE times now it’s so discouraging 😭) but I was wondering if you had to get a waiver and if so how long after it was finalized did you get to enlist and ship?
@ANDREASHAVON
@ANDREASHAVON 4 жыл бұрын
Vikki Pinkston thank you so much for subscribing! no i didn’t have to get a waiver because when i came in that tattoo was a really small name at the very lowest part of my neck that it was decided my meps that the tattoo wasn’t on my neck but the “upper middle back” after i came in i for a cover up and that’s why it ended up a little higher

Kissy_ Kristena welcome battle! Trust me i hated my life at my unit i cried almost everyday but i realized it was just the people i was under in the unit because when i had finally had enough everyone knew about it and when the out me under GOOD leadership my life was different that’s why i think everyone shouldn’t just be getting promoted if they don’t know how to lead because your leadership will either make or break your experience. I would tell you to find people you can talk to on your base that your trust and can give you advice. I went and found a mentor in a completely different brigade! A MSG and CSM that looked out for me like no other! Your chain of command don’t even have to know when you are getting your advice from unless you want them to know

I’m going into the Army at 17 years old (female)- going to take the PICAT soon and then MEPS. If there is a contract open for it, would you recommend your MOS? I know it’s basically 50/50 if you’re assigned to a non-chemical or chemical unit but this MOS interests me. I’m not sure if it’s worth it if I don’t get assigned a non-chemical unit, though. I’ve heard it sucks if you’re in a non-chem I’m going reserves so it may be different for me but I will be going over to active duty after I finish my senior year

Oh, wow! I didn't know you had a dog too. So cute! How did you get your dog to get along with your cat? My parents tried to get their two cats and one dog to be civil for years. The cats would keep marking their territory around the house and would refuse to eat all of their food. They had to get rehomed to owners that didn't have other pets, unfortunately. My parents kept the dog tho. Sorry for rambling!

hey thank you for the video. i'm leaving for basic training soon as 74D, do you have any material/information to send me so i can pass the tests and be ready?
@7ink3347
@7ink3347 3 жыл бұрын
Currently in 74d AIT so I'm pretty sure you're coming here to fort Leonard wood for both basic and AIT. The tests are open book and at a 8th grade lvl I'm talking heat makes stuff evaporate and wind blows gas away easy. What you should know is you're fucked. You're gonna be guaranteed for 2 weeks then make sure you wake up early on day 0 of red phase I'm talking 1 hour prior to do everything cause since there was no shark attack they're gonna fuck you up when quarantine ends. Then when AIT is done you're gonna wait again for a couple weeks until an AIT building opens up because we have an overflow of 74D's, so you'll stay in either your basic training building or another one close by until all the 74D's that graduated AIT actually leave. Then when you finally get to AIT after a long time of believing your life sucks and you just need to get here then you get here and it's like day 0 of basic training but with longer harder smoking sessions if you're going to Bravo company Charlie is a bit more lax. The biggest thing you need to worry about in AIT is room inspections, that's when they bring a ruler into your room and measure all your shirts to make sure they're rolled 6" long and look exactly the same and a protractor to see if your bed with absolutely no wrinkles has a 45 degree fold on every corner otherwise you fail and you pack up all your shit in green duffle bags and leave the building in under 5 min. You then get fucked up for not having 120 people packed and out in 5 min because its impossible and you wont and come back inside and fix your shit in 5 min. The only thing I can tell you is bring a book or two to basic they will pass time and trust me will there be time so bring like 2 military ish books like american sniper I recommend that one. Its gonna suck a lot and pass times are the biggest thing you should worry about cause it's easy. You can carry coins around so I learned how to roll a coin across my knuckles. Good Luck

@ANDREASHAVON
@ANDREASHAVON 3 жыл бұрын
It depends on the unit you are in. For me, when my unit goes to the field i go sometimes. I was in a non chemical unit though. From what i saw and heard from my friends in the chemical unit you are in the field more and you train a lot more as well
@Puma3golf
@Puma3golf 3 жыл бұрын
If you get the opportunity to serve in a Chem unit, you’ll be on cloud nine. If you like the field, get into the combat arms. Get the 40option and make sure it is in your contract if you want it. Some people get screwed on 40 option. Make sure its in writing if you go that route.

@ANDREASHAVON
@ANDREASHAVON 3 жыл бұрын
Honestly yes, but that’s just my opinion i loved being a chemical soldier, it was be stressful but it’s too easy to know the job and keep up with the training. It’s really interested as well and every unit needs CBRN l. You get promoted fast and you can even go warrant officer if you wanted. The Chem Corps is a small corps so you will have a better working relationship with your branch managers for example i was able to call up and and ask question and actually get answers make request and things like that. So yes I’m reclassing but i wouldn’t mine going back to 74D at all. But that just me lol

Chabi Chaffa i have not gotten the chance to over seas just yet but hopefully soon because i want to experience it. As a 74D you will be able to go anywhere because 74Ds are needed in all units. And as far as deployments go, the MOS doesn’t determine how often you are deployed it’s more about the unit you are in or attached to. You will do on deployments, rotations and stuff like that

I was a 54E 62 - 68. My favorite job was teaching CBRN as a PFC for a year at Ft. Lewis (1963.) I was a battalion chemical NCO in Korea, 1964. When I was an E-5 in Germany, my jobs seemed to be mostly clerking. I tended to be in non-Chemical units. You can be used for many other things. There were no cages, or personnel at company-level then. No civilian application when I got out, so I went to school for psychiatric technician, then worked up to a PhD, and taught sociology.

Hi there when you join the us military you will become eligible to apply for naturalization. If i were you i would contact a recruiter because they will be able to tell you all about the process of becoming a us citizen through military service. I hope this helps you a little

@@ANDREASHAVONhey so I’m graduating AIT this Wednesday and I was wondering what to expect at my first unit. I’m going to ft Carson and I’ll be attached to an MP unit I’ll be the only CBRN there I guess. How to manage being the only dragon soldier in a unit?? Tyia
