@@ViolinMD Perhaps you should post videos about your lunches. I am trying to major in neurology, endocrinology, and nutrition. I have three hours of college credit in basic nutrition and still have my textbook and I study other medical subjects in my spare time. I hate mayonnaise and mustard; so I use my homemade garlic lentil hummus as a sandwich spread and pinot grigio on salads. Perhaps hospital staff could bring their own produce and condiments for vending machine sandwiches.

We’ve all had imposter syndrome at one time or another because we’ve always seen someone else in a senior role but then it came time for us to be entrusted with that responsibility. And typically, we come through with flying colors because we do know what we’re doing and the powers-to-be were right, we were ready. Siobhan, you’re an awesome doctor who is thorough and caring for your patients and your team which is going to make you a phenomenal leader.

Loved volunteering at the hospital because of the family vibe of the hospital and no two days were ever the same. Loved it and miss it.

I would have loved to have had a senior resident like her. It's hard to maintain "equinimitas" while juggling/supervising/managing 10 admissions. And such a great attitudinal fit - no problem with a "learning point," which must have been given (and accepted) in a positive manner. Her patients, her students and her attendings were so lucky to have her. She's a gem!

You relate with me so much rn - you're my hero! Working code *_and_* living the life of a night shifter. Rarely do ppl understand what that life is like until they've lived it - living our lives *_opposite_* of the daytime/regular business hrs ppl. Sometimes, I do wonder though - how did our parents/previous generations do it _before_ 24-hour supermarkets, superstores, ATMs, etc. Even still, there are still something's that need to be done in the daytime, and having to disrupt your regular sleep schedule around it is so painful sometimes. And if you're on-call and happen to get called in that night, or your normal day off, well... *_damn!_*

Hi, Siobhan! I think your junior residents and medical students are blessed to have you, and I'm sure they admire you so much! I love how you said that the night gave you a chance to learn and grow -- that truly is what it's all about! Some possible topics: 1) Now that you're a 2nd year resident, how are things different from what you thought they'd be like, say, during first or second year of medical school; 2) I'd love to hear another case study/medical mystery -- those are fun and you present them well! 3) Perhaps you mentioned this already, but I'd like to know what happens if you, as the SMR, need help. How do those communications work, and how often do you have to call for help. As always, I love your videos! You're a gift to the world!

This woman is super human. She does all the 'right' things. Eats healthy, is pleasant, walks to work/places, uses reusable bags, ensures she gets exercise and eats, checks in on others. I am proud of myself when I achieve pretty much any of those things. Haha!

Is amazing how you work as a team, I think a lot of hospitals outside Canada need to know the way you work.

can you explain the difference between senior medical resident and what you were last year?
@lifewithcassie9749
@lifewithcassie9749 6 жыл бұрын
During your residency you basically have more responsibility each year as you learn more things hands on. I believe senior residence are completing their final year of residency and teach the new med students while still having a full doctor as a boss themselves.

I think she said that residency can be 2-5 years, if so, I guess that residents in year 2-5 are called senior.
