Have YOU ever worked the night shift and if not, WOULD you ever work the night shift for your full-time job? As I mentioned in the video, it's an interesting lifestyle that is definitely hard to maintain as you get older so I'm happy I get to try this out while I'm young. Let me know if you have any tips and thanks again for watching!

I find the night more peaceful and am able to get more work done, so I would consider it for sure.

Going to do night shift very soon! Always been a night owl and the 730am shift would never get easier. So instead of fighting my natural night owl self I’ll work with it haha

It seems like I really am a night owl. Even when I'm doing online school and wake up early I can never seem to get in the mood to do work. It hits me at around 6pm through the rest of the night. Night Shift is definitely for me.

Hi Christopher, nice vid mate, I'm about to start a permanent night role as an engineer on the London underground, am a little nervous about the changes and seeing some stuff about how it can have a negative impact on health, TBH i think like you have shown, a good routine of sleep and food and should be fine. have you had any big issues with the change ?

Hey Aamer! Thanks for your comment. The three biggest changes are mostly just going to be eating, sleeping, and your social life. Your eating schedule is something you’ll naturally get used to and it’ll vary by person but the sleep is likely going to be the most tricky (it was for me). I highly recommend blocking out any windows during the day in your bedroom with drapes to avoid natural light from affecting your sleep especially if you’re a light sleeper. Most of your “social” interactions outside of your role will likely be at night time since you’ll be asleep during the day. I’m not sure if you plan to “switch” back to a normal schedule on your days off, but I know some people that did this too. It’s really tough on your sleep though - I mostly do it during my vacation times instead of every weekend.

@@christopherlee. yea, thanks for the response yea I'm just worried about the sleep to b honest, I suppose after a while ill find a routine and get used to it, I agree I think weekends ill stick to a late night but not like the shift, maybe 1-2 am at least so the change isn't too big.. one more question ? u taking a lot of caffeine or anything to get you through the night? I was just hoping to avoid anything and try to get by.

@@aamer793 In the beginning, I did drink coffee/tea to help me stay awake, but I also just like caffeine even before I switched over haha definitely not necessary but might be helpful in the beginning if you’re struggling!

Bro are you still working night shifts? Im working since last 5 years at night shifts and feel devastated now. Please suggest how do you feel if youre still working at nights and if you've changed your shift what difference you feel like?

I am still working it! I've been doing it for over 2 years now. I think it takes time to really develop a routine/schedule that works for you. If it feels devastating, maybe consider switching it up and changing roles? I will likely pursue something different in the near future, I don't think it's for me for long term.

What do you do on weekends, do you also sleep on this timeline on weekends? I'm going to start doing night shift from 10pm to 6am. I don't plan on doing it for too long, but I'm kinda excited about it.

I try to get dinner with friends or plan things during the night. I still maintain the same sleep schedule on weekends so I don’t go crazy haah but I’ve met others on the shift swap back and forth, it’s really up to what you want and how you feel about it… good luck!!
