You guys are incredible! After so many years in competition, when I had to choose between finally leaving Russia for a better and calmer life and staying here a little longer, so I’d be able to have more domestic training. Eventually, I have to admit that I got stuck for a period of my first residency (Clinical Pharmacology), but now, especially by looking at your personal experience that you brought into the light here, on KZbin, I m more than ever confident that this internist life is what I wanted when entered my training 8 years ago, and I also (again, thanks to your blog) now see where I should be headed if I truly want this. Many thanks for your inspiration and energy you put into this blog. Cheers!

What are the typical hours? How many on calls do you have per month? How many patients you are responsible for during your on call/is there any caps on how many patient you will admit on a given day? TIA❤️
@RoadToUK4 жыл бұрын
Different specialties have different hours but the normal working hours can be 8-4, 8-5, 8-6, 9-5 and then there may being long shifts, late shifts, and night shifts. On-call rotas also depend on the speciality and the overall demand. We were doing medical night shifts, which don't have admissions. Those are a different night shift.

Please make the music sound less I can’t hear ibreez while she is walking Rather no need music . He just need to hear more from you guys (tips etc) How many bleeps you got during this shift ? Do you get post night off day? Please answer
@RoadToUK4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback. A busy night can have more than 10-15 calls or sometimes there can be as few as 5-6 calls. Sometimes even one single deteriorating patient can keep you occupied the whole night. It highly depends which medical wards you are covering. We get 12 hour night shifts consecutively for a maximum of 4 days and then 2 days (48 hours) off.
