I go every 6 months for A1C testing and a check up. I go next Thursday. Last time was July 8th. A1C was 5.1. Wish me luck. Henry puts a smile on my face. You are an amazing mom!

My endo has me coming every 3 months. I get labs at that time including an A1C. Every once in a while she will say come back in 6 months, but that doesn't happen often!! Congrats on the A1C, keep up the great job!!

Every 3 months to the NP or endo. But the co-pays are 0 at the moment. If I had to pay for them, I wouldn't go but 1x/yr. Our endo offered 6 months. We make all our own changes and we have an online portal to send messages and they respond within 1 to 2 days (or same day). My daughter likes the NP and wants to see her more often, so we keep going. I like educating them on Loop and other things we figure out.

I just looked into getting a Dexcom for my daughter Lydia and it is expensive even with insurance and her meeting deductable,as of right now she is gonna have to keep poking finger and checking blood sugars, which has been rough lately...she is seeing diabetes Dr every 6 months for now until we can figure out a good system for treating her lows...great vlogging Henry, glad your A1C was good and glad you liked your McDonald's burger

I was just diagnosed 8-28-08, and I had a lot of appointments at first, but my last appointment was in September and I don't go back until march. so maybe every 6 months. It is all so new to me. We are videoing my journey on my you-tube channel as well if you wanna check it out. I don't have many type 1 friends, and It would be great to get advice form T1D's my age. Thanks for sharing.

im in australia, we go 3 monthly only until in control then most spread it out, I go yearly, but honestly , most of my friends who've had type 1 40 years etc go only when updating eg, I just went for the first time in 15 yrs and that was to get a pump,

Every 3 months for A1C check, update on any ratio changes, and refill my prescriptions. I’m going to see about every 6 months soon. I hate spending so much on visits on top of all the other things.

I live in England and with the NHS (national health service - everything is completely free, no insurance or anything) children go for a checkup every 3 months, adults every 6 months. Like you say though, I make more changes myself than my doctor does, so they’re not always that useful

Rosie Barron that’s awesome. I wish the US would follow suite. I’m originally from Canada where appointments and blood work were covered by the government (I still needed private insurance for prescriptions), but now I live in the US and everything requires insurance or you pay out of pocket. Diabetes is sooooo expensive 😕

I have an endo appt coming this week. And I’m nervous I don’t like going. Its an all day event for us. I haven’t been wearing my dex so I have to check my self old school with a finger stick every 2 hrs all day. No dex is kinda scary and exhausted and you don’t really know what’s going on. But also not wearing something feels amazing!! Ugg its so hard!

Uh Oh Maya's Here I agree with both! Being on the dexcom is so helpful for glucose control but being off it feels amazing too! 😄

My insurance covers appointments at 3 month intervals. But my doctor says to come back in 4 months--which sometimes turns into 5 months. After 6 months they will call me to get me on the schedule.

My doctor wants 3 months but I make them for 6 months, I’m not paying for them to tell me to keep doing what I’m doing. My old endo said if you have superb control he works his patients up to yearly visits with extras in between on an as needed basis.
