It is a derivative of the biathlon rifle. Anschutz has been dominating in Olympic competition for many years. Pretty much the only name in NCAA rifle as well. There is nothing like an Anschutz.

@@danielmastrangelo3778 My son shot junior Olympics and then, on a full scholarship to West Virginia University shot NCAA competition. WVU won four straight NCAA championships during his time there. He was an all American three years and the team captain the last two years. He was offered a chance to go to the Olympic Development team but stayed at WVU for his masters instead. A great decision. We have shot together at Camp Perry. I've seen the best shooters in the world and all shot Anschutz. I cannot change my mind.

Your videos are great - well done and with excellent content. Love the uber-hardware, too, although I'm a 52D guy... But to me, you capture the essence of rimfire rifles - what I wouldn't give for another day, wandering the hills with a buddy and a Winchester Model 68..."Hey, betcha can't hit that rock over yonder (200 yards or so) in 5 tries". Eventually, we hit it, just more than 5 tries. Can't do that, so I go to the range. And so do you. Thank you for sharing.

I took my Christensen Ranger out a couple days ago and MAN! did that thing love some Midas+. CenterX was very good too but Midas+ was outstanding. It stacked those rounds, and I mean 1 hole stack. I thought I had the triggertech set at the lowest level and turns out I didn't. While I was shooting I was kinda complaining about how heavy the trigger felt. I turned it all the way down tonight so next time out I'll see how it does. It shoots most everything reasonably well buy my word did that thing love that Midas+ ammo. I know that rifle will stack rounds and if the current trigger configuration isn't light enough, I'm going to replace it with something else. I also run the same tuner as you. Good piece of gear and well worth the cost. Thanks for bringing us along.

Thanks for the video! I've been thinking about these "super class" expensive 22LR rifles like the Vudoo and the Anschutz. That said, I'm hitting 0.62 and 0.52 groups at 50 yards with my $600 Ruger American Target (model 8348). I glass bedded it and added a Timney Trigger ($150). Do I need to spend $4,000 to get 1/10" better at 50 yards? Don't know... :)
@alfonsorodriguez64373 жыл бұрын
It depends, in Bench Rest a .001" will win or loose a competition, in Small Bore prone or Thee Position, rifles are very specialized and fully adjustable for length of pull, arm length and neck length so that the cheek piece is comfortable as well as the arm. They have to be accurate since the NRA ten ring at 50 yards is 22mm and the X ring is 10mm. In Olympic and international competition the Ten Ring is 10mm and X ring is 4mm. You shoot prone, standing and kneeling in Three Position competition or Prone only competition. So yes these rifles are up to $5000.00 and do not include sights which can $400.00 to $700.00 more. The are also single shot rifles which makes for a solid accurate action. I shoot an Anschutz Super Match that is $3800.00 without the sights (2021 prices) and there are model of various brands at $5000.00. The rifles are works of art, I have been able to shoot .25" groups with match ammo at 50 meters from the bench and from the prone and kneeling I hit the 10mm Ten Ring consistently with iron precision sights. Standing unsupported is a bit more difficult but not bad. Takes a lot of practice, like everything but I just shoot in a club. My rifle's trigger is an Anschutz 54 match action at 3.5 ounces and that helps a lot. In Anschutz rifles, that action is about 40% of the cost of the rifle and the rest is the stock and mandatory accessories to adjust the rifle to your body. Your modified 10/22 should accurate enough to compete in ARA Small Bore Bench Rest or Tactical Tournament since it is semiautomatic. 10/22's are usually very accurate and once you change the trigger and the old match type that is no longer made had a decent trigger and was very accurate with the bull barrel. So it all depends on what you are inclined to in the shooting game. By the way, I also have an old Anschutz Model 1416 sports rifle that is also a tack driver with a crisp 1.5 pounds trigger. I bought it in Germany in 1986 when I was stationed there (US Army officer back then) for $170.00 at the PX and last time I check on prices on a catalog they were up $1500.00 to $2000.00 for the new models which are not much different. Good luck, I hope this answers some question and yeas the shooter in the video needs a bit more practice but he also has very big hands and that sometimes affects the shooting grip. He is just having fun and that is how it should be.

@@briansupermag3918 I bought a 1710HB & a 1761 thumb hole last Nov. 2021 with the new 5019 two stage trigger ie (add $100 in the 1710). The rifle from Anschutz N.A. was $2595. The competition model has an adjustable stock and much nicer for Benchrest was only $100 more. you might want to consider that before you make the purchase. 🤔 So far I can’t tell which rifle shoots the tightest groups but if you are a leftie DO NOT BUY the Thumb hole 1761 as it is strictly for right handed shooters ONLY 🫤 ps I should have gotten the target version stock 🤔

I love your enthusiasm and the variety of rifles you get to play with, but you can't tell a thing from two groups. I have a pretty big collection myself including a Vudoo 360, CZ 457, CZ 452 full custom, Kimber HS, about 6 different Anschutz 54 auctioned guns, Anschutz 64, a Sako Finnfire, a Tactical Solutions 10/22 with a Kidd barrel, and a couple of Kidd Ultimates. The best shooter BY FAR were my two Anschutz 54R full custom silhouette rifles. They averaged sub .25 and often shoot in the .1s. And yes, .22 need to be broken in. Barrels often tighten up after a thousand rounds or so. Once I find what mine really likes that's usually all I put in it. I want to love Eley, but most prefer Lapua/SK except for my Anschutz 1913 Olympic 3P gun. It loves Tenex.

The 1727F is based on the proven and refined Fortner Biathlon straight pull action that works 100% in the harshest climatic conditions no matter what, with groups of 12mm (.47") guaranteed, with Match Grade .22 LRs, at 50m (54.6 yards). $4000+ for a factory rifle? Nah! I've owned 8 different Anschutz rilfes and some were good and others fair. My one Vudoo would outshoot them all. Anschutz has been living off an old reputation but others have exceeded them since. If I were going to spend that kind of money, I'd put it in a custom rifle like a Vudoo, RimX or Holeshot 2500.
