To everyone concerned that the black dog at :24 has a zip tie in his mouth.... It is drool. We don't have zip ties at the daycare facility that I work at. You can see his mouth is open and his drool is hanging from his mouth. He shook his head right before I took the video of him and his slobber got around his snout.

* Sounds like a back yard bred, puppymill, pet store bulldog. Fixed it. Well bred bulldogs don't look like that. Teeth sticking out is a fault in the show ring, meaning the dog is worthless. People that care only about money will breed these dogs to look like that. If you have or know someone that has a bulldog with teeth all over the place, it's not a well bred dog, regardless of how much money was spent. Just because the dog was $3500 doesn't mean it's a quality pedigree.

How is poops after 30 mintues a problem? If anything that makes it easier to time when to go out for a walk.
@saskia97202 жыл бұрын
Not really, since its not good practice to feed dogs just before or after walking them, it can lead to all sorts of digestive issues. Best to feed them an hour after the walk apparently. So if the dog cant hold their poops till the next walk time or outside time, then it could be a bit of a problem, especially when dealing with so many dogs.

i’ve heard nothing but terrible things about doggy day cares other than the cute videos selective workers post on youtube… seems many of them are just a big room where they stuff dogs in for hours.. which might work for toddlers or babies… but dogs not so much
@aprilsitaly2 жыл бұрын
depends on the facility. Some facilities are small and have 30 dogs in a room which is too many. Day cares tend to do meet and greets to assess dogs that come in but very few dogs can handle that much stimulation of 20 dogs in a group. A lot of day cares do have outdoor yards but on cold or rainy days dogs are kept inside. Good facilities will have enrichment toys in them such as jumps and slides and pools. Individual chew toys like balls or bones are a big no no. Then it comes down to the owners. A lot of these dogs are irresponsibly bred puppy mill pet store dogs. Add the lack of training (jumping on people) and proper care (proper diet will significantly decrease poop eating and vet meds will just about eliminate any leftover desire), and day cares can be a disaster.
@b0nsaibabe2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, this seems like it’d be super stressful for them.
@alirollins58042 жыл бұрын
@⭒ eden depending on the dog, yes. Some dogs are just not meant for this type of environment, but at my work, the dogs there love it. They can play all they want and have some fun. Those types of dogs, as long as they behave properly, can do very well
@kirkbupkis2 жыл бұрын
Yup I've worked at one exactly like this, just a big room with penned off sections, linoleum floor for all the dogs to run around and do their business on, never fed only given water for up to 8-12 hours because food aggressive dogs would cause fights, EVEN IF THE OWNER SPECIFICALLY LEFT FOOD AND REQUESTED THEIR DOG BE FED I WASN'T ALLOWED TO. Basically left to themselves all day without any source of enrichment or entertainment and the workers mostly exist to pick up shit and pet them. In the daycare I worked at we were always way overbooked and understaffed, so we had up to 40 dogs at a time all packed into a room about a third to half the size of a gymnasium with only myself and sometimes one other person responsible for all of them. It's a very stressful environment to put your dog in and I highly suggest anyone who's considering it at least make sure their local daycare is a good environment for their dog to be in.
@alirollins58042 жыл бұрын
@Kirk Bupkis exactly. However, I guess I'm lucky in my daycare. We have three yards, two for the bigs and one for the littles, so we can separate dogs that don't get along. They get water, have an outdoor portion on turf for each yard, and have a kiddie pool on hot days. Were also a boarding facility and if a daycare dog comes in with lunch we put them in an empty kennel to eat and then have them sit for an hour so they dont get too wound up after eating and risk their stomach rotating. We also have a designated nap time for dogs that are staying the nights and any day care dog we feel needs it as they're getting too found up or if the owners request it at around noon. Well also have some dogs come in that need limited yard time for whatever reason and weve also taken dogs in for daycare after they maybe had a procedure and their parents had to work but the dog needed supervision. We even have a giant whiteboard up in the big yards of dogs that can absolutely not be together. Some dogs hate each other, and no matter what, when they see them, they get aggressive, so we have it all marked down, so we don't risk putting those dogs together in the first place from then on. And we even have a system for first-time dogs. When its a dogs first day, they can stay no longer than 3 hours, so they don't get too worked up, and we can monitor how they react to and adapt to the yards. We even have cameras that live broadcast to a tv up front and an app where owners can log on any time they want and see how their dog is doing in the yards If you decide to take your dog to a doggy daycare, ask for a tour. My job has done that several times for new owners. Well, take them back and give them a tour of everything we do.

The underbite of the last dog, is that a breed-specific issue?
@petrescuework-difficultcas65812 жыл бұрын
Jaw deformities are common in brachycephalic breeds. Their whole skull and face is that unnaturally deformed, that it doesn't have regular proportions anymore. An outstanding under jaw is caused by the nose and over jaw area to be bred too flat. This is what breeders of these dogs want. Causing issues like that. If you ever consider getting a dog, I would highly recommend staying ten feet away from brachycephalic breeds. They have a ton of health issues, your vet bills will sky rocket, and their breeding must not be supported in any way.
