Olympia in Elis was another one of them special landmarks. This game allows you to watch and take part in ancient Greek Olympics year 430 BC, thats pretty cool. After the Romans banned the event it would be some 1500 years before there were Olympics again.

To be fair the Romans did plenty of cultural damage around the Mediterranean and beyond and it's wrong to idealize them as bringers of culture the way most people do. But they never banned the Olympics. The Byzantines did.
@InfiniteApollo12Ай бұрын
@@velvetcroc9827You make it sound overwhelming complex. The Byzantines are the Roman Empire. In 330 AD the capital was moved from Rome to Byzantium (which was renamed Constantinople). After this point the empire is Christian and not multi religious from how it was before. The Roman Empire banned the Olympic Games in 390AD when it outlawed all pagan worship. The games were dedicated to Zeus so thus they were heretical. Yes linguistically they spoke Greek, but that had always been the case since Alexander the Great. When the capital was in Rome, orders to the eastern provinces were still issued in Greek.

This game is great, but it’s a shame that there aren’t any other side activities like fishing, sports/mini games or chariot racing like in Origins. There are plenty of quests(mostly fetching stuff) and there are collectibles scattered through out and riddles, but other than that you’re just running around taking contracts. The map/world needed more life and interactions. The long roads on horse back are pretty desolate. In Ghost of Tsushima and in Witcher 3, they (the devs) understood that long roads and maps to travel require certain engagements to break up the monotony, in GoT and W3 they always have things to encounter or explore every few minutes. Man if only there was a directors cut/re-release of this game where they add so much of what I just mentioned and add quality of life changes to the game.

The animations for walking at so floaty and look strange. the way you walk up stairs is like gliding over them. In origins you can see your char taking the steps and is more natural. idk something off about it here. Also the camera is less personal compared to origins where it zooms in if you walking slow which made it a lot more immersive.
