Is it possible to disconnect the wire instead? By removing it from the harness?

So after you do this, can you turn on regular headlights? Or only high beams? Or is the no high beams on these cars?
@ProjectDv22 жыл бұрын
This has nothing to do with the high beams at all. Your headlights will work normally. This is only disabling the Daytime Running Lights (DRL) circuit. That pin feeds power to the headlights whenever the key is turned on and the parking brake is down. It *only* feeds power to the headlights, not to the taillights, not to the marker lights. Everything else, including the headlights, are fed power via other pins when the switch is turned on.

Hi Quick question The front right yellow running light doesn't work. Its not: The bulb The fuses The carriage The headlight assembly The switch (shown in this vid) What else can it be? Wiring? The blinkers and 4 ways all work and its the only thing not working. Can't I just use a single filament in both right and left for just the blinkers svs 4 ways and completely forego the running lights?

Ok, now here’s a question. What if I want different lights to be my DRL?? I have Halo style headlights in my 03 Jetta. When driving I want just the halo on, not the whole headlight.
@AutoScholarwithMrB3 жыл бұрын
I would run a new wire to the headlight bulbs that gets power when the key in on. Some people will get a piggy back fuse adapter and wire it off a fuse that gets power when the key is on. You would just have to run the power and make sure the halo bulb is grounded to the chassis.

Or just connect the wire for the DRL circuit to the pin on the headlights for the angel eyes.

I just replaced my headlight switch with a European switch that doesn't have a DRL circuit but adds the parking light position.
@PassionForGrammar Жыл бұрын
I don't need the headlights on in the middle of a bright sunny day, wearing the bulbs out faster and pulling on the alternator for nothing. Might save a tiny bit on gas mileage with this, thanks.
