BOYS TADAY! Joe you are one hell of a fisherman! I can’t wait to come down a fish with you! It’s on my bucket list! Your video’s never disappoint! Gotta get together with bluegabe soon hopefully! And you definitely gotta go “scamp” fishing when the season is open so we can get that good ole Joe VT Scamp Scream!

Probably the few people that acutally catch their Swordfish I would say 90% of people who catch Swordfish are Hooker eletric and LP. Nice catch

First swordfish I ever caught was on a offshore tuna fishing trip on a 125ft headboat out of New Jersey in the Hudson Canyon. Tuna fishing was super slow so I decided to drop down a huge squid on a swordfish rig With 2 lights. Had the bait set at about 300 feet and about 10 minutes later My 50w shamano real was screaming. Fought it for about an hour stand up no harness It was just under 300 pounds. I think I got super lucky. It charged the boat and one of the mates was able to get a gaff in it otherwise I think I would have been fighting that fish a lot longer.

Unless you have a very powerful transducer it’s hard to make anything past 400 feet

You did not disappoint with the swords, what an awesome trip. Question is sword fishing good year around or is it better at certain times? While living in the Marsghall islands the marlin were better in the fall even though they can be caught year around. Speaking of seeing a marlin do something awesome, I saw a marlin eat a 30 lb tuna in one bite on the surface, I couldarar literally gaff the fish he was that close to the boat it would have been the end of my arm though lol.
@joevtfishing Жыл бұрын
It’s pretty consistent the whole year here

15,000 views but only 1,000 likes!?! Whats wrong with 14,000 +- of you? You watched the mans video, the least you can do is give him a thumbs up, but he deserves some subscribers! These videos are not free or easy for the creator to film or edit just so we can watch for free...likes and subscribes means so much to these guys both mentally and monetarily. Im done with my rant, thanks for another great video!

Which is the best tide for fishing swordfish? High, low, rising or falling?

we dont really base any of our offshore fisheries on tides. if anything its lunar or major and minor solunar periods

@@joevtfishing thanks, appreciate the insight.. im from Bay Islands, Honduras, Central America; and its a really new fisherie here abd there only been a few caught but all over 200+, we have ambundance of squid, and other bait fish, I've caught a couple of 40' pomfrets in the last two weeks.
@georgeniebergall7074 Жыл бұрын
Hey Captain, I don’t see anyone braining the fish. It is the most humane way to kill the fish instantly I’d like to see this done and respect for that month so you just caught.
