Used to have one of these. It was an absolute monster. I also shared concern with the brittle blade set. Very nice piece you have

I also have that concern with my Sanyo 16" table fan, who knows how long acrylics last but it's not for a very long time

Good testing video bro on this 20" whole house window fan i really enjoy that start-up sound from the Emerson motor which is one of my favorites I can't wait to see part 2 which is getting the blades balanced

I have two Lakewood HV-12-WR Window Fan and both switches are stuck in the off position. I pulled the knob out and tried to use nose plier to turn switch left and right, but no click sound like when it was working. Any recommendation of how to repair or where to get the right replacement part to fix? I love to fix both Lakewood if I can before buy two new window fan. Thank you very much.

That is some real odd branding on that. I guess Lasko manufactured this fan for Dayton but forgot to remove “Galaxy by Lasko” from the sticker near the switch. It’s always funny when OEMs give themselves away through mistakes like that. I have a GE u-bend fluorescent tube that was very obviously manufactured by Philips, because it has green end caps. Edit: Just watched your other video on this fan. So I guess this goes deeper than that! I guess Vernco accidentally used the wrong sticker on this fan. I assume it was the Galaxy by Lasko one, since 2/3 stickers are Dayton. What a mess, plus the backwards switch too. How did this thing even pass quality control?
@JordanU6 ай бұрын
Lasko is the only manufacturer out of those 4 names. They're all related.

I have that exact fan except the switch is on the hub and not on the base.. It just died on me, the motor was getting very hot and the motor was clean so I think the thermal switch went on it.. The blade is in great shape... Thing worked great for years.. PS: how does this compare to that AIR QUEEN model you got a few months ago?
@Star_Gazing_Coffee_Lover3 жыл бұрын
Ok looks like yours is bigger than mine, the motor in mine looks like your everyday cheap fan motor..

@@JordanU Would be nice if you could find a blade to fit that shaft and the right diameter.. And yeah I think it is the 16 inch model I have.. thinking about taking it apart to see if I can change the thermal switch or whatever it's called I forget..

Nice fan! They don't make them like that anymore. Sadly. The blade pitch is outrageous in a good way. lol. Must move a serious amount of air. Good luck with it.

The performance on these is remarkable. They were probably some of the most powerful 20" window units ever made.

I bet this moves as much air, if not more than my Hunter Zephair 18" fan with 4 steep pitched metal blades.
