More than that, people who are deeply insecure won't believe it. Sometimes it's better to say, you are beautiful, but you'd be able to see it, too if you were happy and healthy. As someone who was overweight, I only worked to lose it when I had fully understood that it wasn't making me more beautiful, and it wasn't making me happy nor was it not degrading my health. I saw a certain lifestyle and I was ready to steer clear of that, it was slow, but I started with something simple like only eating at certain times and trying to only eat what was good for me. After that, I was more ready to start working out and once you start with that, you have to stick to it and then it can become a release from everything. I didn't lose the weight because I thought I was beautiful, I didn't even respond to it when people called me that. Now, I do, because I know I am, and sometimes losing the weight can do wonders for the self esteem because that weight only degrades it for a lot people.

Yes exactly!!! I have had multiple arguments with people online because of this whole toxic positivity mindset. I cannot stand it. The world has become far too sugarcoated and everything has to be diluted down. Nobody can be realistic anymore. Far too many people give out sweet lies. I’ve seen videos all over tiktok, people who are clearly obese and comments being like “awww babes,don’t say you’re fat.” “You are perfect no matter what size.” “Big is beautiful.” -all those generic typical comments. It really doesn’t help the situation, if anything,it makes it worse. All it does is creates the feeling of becoming comfortable in not wanting to change or improve health. If people want to compliment someone, compliment them on someone WORTH complimenting them on. Example,compliment their hair,or makeup. Don’t lie to people just to make them feel better. But the moment you be truthful about their weight, you automatically get labelled as a “hater.” No...I’m just being realistic with you. Nobody can handle the truth anymore. Sorry that was long 😂

I am comforted by the fact that I'm not the only one who thinks like Daz. Whenever I try to explain the problem of this fake positivity I get insulted for being a bodyshaming person and it really pisses me off. Thank you so much Daz for choosing to tell the truth. Same!! I love coming across like-minded people. Makes me feel like I’m not the only one that thinks the way i do. Love having people on the same wavelength as me, and I literally always agree with the things Daz says. Everything he says, is literally my brain! 😂 love people who have common sense and realistic about things. I really need some more friends with people who think this way lol. And yes same, I have been on tiktok and whenever I try to explain some actual truth with fake positivity, people always automatically resort to “oh you’re hating.” “oh stfu.” “oh you are bodyshaming.” People will always immediately jump at you without actually trying to understand. I personally think tiktok is the worst one out of all of them. People on there are so incredibly offended over everything! And I tend to see a lot of fat acceptance videos and fake positivity stuff on tiktok the most.

It’s all in how you phrase it. Although some people do take it too far.
@mayarokii3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the same goes for me and I completely agree you with and Daz (and anyone else agrees) because giving people the truth and offering support will never equal hate or shame - it's immature that people (especially those tiktokers) see it as hate and assume that that person needs to be 'cancelled' or something when they honestly want to help the person and they only have good intentions. I just wish people would take some more time to understand things better and I'm really glad that people agree with me. I love it when people have a similar thinking pattern to me and understand me well so I'm glad I've come across some like-minded people here :D It's like they say, "Great minds think alike."
