I actually think the opposite is true, isn't saying kinky people are just solving a trauma a huge clichee? Sure it might be true for some, but I don't think that's true for like pet play at all.
@aimee5504
@aimee5504 8 ай бұрын
@@99xara99 Yeah I respect your opinion on that, my comment was mainly directed to Daz’s social commentary but what do you mean that pet play kinks can’t be linked to trauma? I don’t see how pet play could be the only kink which cannot have any link to trauma. Personally, as someone who studies psychology and psychotherapy, I don’t necessarily believe I could narrow down every behaviour as being linked to a painful trauma but I believe that everything can be narrowed down to an experience with intense emotions. I think when it comes to pet play specifically, there appears to be emphasis on the power dynamic of the master and pet roles. That could come from some sort of need to degrade others which could mean that person comes from an oppressive or unstable household or the degradation could act as a form of escape from responsibility/ social pressures or from a lack of self esteem and the kink is used as a way to validate that negative self belief by having someone treat you as lesser than them. On the other hand, it could come from a validation kink if that power dynamic is used to praise e.g the “pet” so to speak is praised for behaviour by an authority figure which could come from the nature of their parental relationships (mummy or daddy issues). Or they could be an insecure person who finds comfort in having a reliable person to make them feel better about themselves. Anyway my point is that I do think pet play has roots in trauma and other intense experiences and is generally a super interesting topic to try and pick apart which is something I only scraped the surface of which I find super exciting haha 😊 I’m fully up for having a conversation about this. By the way I don’t mean anything hurtful by my analysis of this kink, I understand why the generalisation that some kinks come from those struggling with intense mental health issues can be quite insulting and is also a lazy analysis that doesn’t contemplate numerous other factors, but I also think it would be wrong to conclude that kinks don’t include traumas at all and especially that pet play kinks are somehow excluded from having developed from trauma.

As a child me and my friends loved to play pretend-horses (without costume.) both pretending to have our own that we cared for, and playing horses together. It's honestly one of my dearest childhood memories, we were very passionate and really enjoyed physical activity! The thing is- it didn't follow us into adulthood!! As it, probably shouldn't- if you want you role play then go into theatre.

Exactly! I don't mind people hobby horsing because that's not a sexual thing and it can teach you a lot about stable management but acting as a horse when you're an adult-

Very well said at the end there, Daz!! As someone with several mental illnesses I agree 100% that it just feels so much better after dealing with it, rather than accepting the illness as an identity and not getting help. Thank you for being an advocate for mental health and saying what needs to be said

daz being the most upset about the costume not looking like a horse is wholsome and hilarious at the same time. if my parents saw that, they would start to pray, daz is just upset she doesn't look like a real horse XDDD

i love daz so much, i love how understanding he is about mental health things, like trauma responses and coping mechanisms, its really important to bring to light a lot of uncommon trauma responses/coping mechanisms for the world to understand (especially people who don't experience those uncommon trauma responses) so that other people don't look at a person and immediately point fingers, saying they're weird or strange, and instead get these people to understand them and hopefully get the person proper help for their trauma issues

I love how Daz is understanding, and open minded and willing to learn about this type of stuff, because like how this person is dressing like a horse, like he said, it could be a way of how the person is coping, we don’t know what someone has been through, we don’t know what this person has been through and people cope differently and those coping mechanisms are valid because your not hurting anyone, and again, like Daz said, it may make her escape reality, so she can feel better and help her cope, but people judge to quickly before hearing the story of the person, and that’s what’s sad about the world

Its madness... the world is not the problem. People doing weird stuff and force other people to understand them instead of seeking help and actually fix the issue are the issue. There are people spending quite an amount of money on becoming an animal. That money could have been used for better things. For example mental health. People will run away from those people that dont see their own madness and want to normalize it instead of seeking help.

13:00 i asked my mom if i could go to therapy because my mental health is lowering by the damn second and i want help, she said she wouldn't pay for it because I "don't" need it and i cannot talk to my father about it because he will just send me to a mental hospital, nothing more no explanation he does not care so I highly agree that people are "listening" but will not help or they will just push it away a lot of people think that depression is a joke and not real but it is an extremely real and horrible thing that people can have. But people do not realize that because most people don't think or take any knowledge, so thank you for talking about that and telling the truth about it not a lot of people realize how bad it could get.

The thing is about distractions they can be very useful to pass the time or temporarily feel better. But it's important to remember that distractions should only be used if there is nothing else you can do to face a problem head on, so you are simply waiting for something out of your control to reduce/solve the issue. Or if the problem at hand has emotionally, cognitively or physically wounded you so much that you can't face it head on so you need a distraction to take the time to recover. Problem is people get addicted to avoiding issues.

You do 'groom' a horse's hooves. It requires picking and cleaning out the hay/dirt/grass from the bottom of their hooves. You also apply various things to the hooves to keep them healthy and such. Also, trimming the hooves. I love horse's and have ridden my whole life, but I've never wanted to become a horse or pony 😂
