I will say as an entomologist: cockroaches are amazing and awesome and a lot of people are fascinated by them, they are also a surprisingly common pet, however I personally hate them, I was traumatized by them when I was 9, the house I lived in was infested, but this little girls obsession is a fairly common one and is not weird at all. but daz has a very valid reaction to it (as with most sane people)
