As a long time Silent Movie fan, I was happy to see a vlog on Renee Adoree. She really was a very beautiful and talented actress. What a sad ending to her short life. I loved that you took her flowers and left her photo there for others to see. Craig practically lived at Aaron’s Records back in the day, beginning at their original location on Melrose. 😊

Hi Jordan, I love it when you film you're flight, as we have had no vacation this year I feel I have had a little flight myself. That looks lovely what you left at Renee's grave. What a sad and horrible way to die. Even Hollywood stars were just a number at the end of the day, sadly, we are just numbers and still treated the same way today, all those years after. Loved seeing the Jahster again. Great vlog Jordan.

So nice that you help us remember these people that usually only Hollywood freaks like me know. I visited her grave last year when I was in Hollywood. Speaking of Hollywood, when I was there for four nights right in the heart of everything, I loved every minute of it but I could understand how you'd be completely sick of it after all those years you spent there. Another interesting star of that era was Louise Brooks , I knew her, I used to deliver prescriptions to her and also remember the night she came in the Rio Bamba restaurant when I was working. It was terrifying LOL. She looked like an old beautiful witch. There is an interesting story. She was a brilliant woman. Anyway, love this great as always!

This is wonderful. I'm a huge Silent Movie buff. Renee Adoree and Colleen Moore are my two favorite Silent film actresses. There are many others that I am a big fan of, but they were right at the top for me. although I also love Corinne Griffith, Esther Ralston, Marion Davies, Mary Pickford, Clara Bow, Pola Negri, Eleanor Boardman, Jacqueline Logan, Laura La Plante, Dolores Del Rio, Dolores Costello and many others.

Renee was an extraordinarily beautiful and talented actress. It's heartbreaking to think that she died so young. Mabel Normand (36) also died of Tuberculosis and my favorite, Olive Thomas (Only 20) passed from Nephritis. It seems dangerous diseases were fairly common in the early part of the 20th century. Thanks for sharing Renee's story with such admiration, Jordan.

The Big Parade is a fantastic movie! I have the DVD and saw it be shown at The Strand Theater in Marietta, GA (Marietta Square). Very lovely vlog, Jordan. It was kind of you to leave some flowers and a photo on Renee's mausoleum. She was such a beautiful and engaging actress. Interesting that you mentioned the sanatoriums. My late grandfather had a sister who allegedly died in a sanatorium from tuberculosis. My grandfather refused to speak about it and would get very upset whenever the topic was brought up. Apparently, back in the day, there was a stigma to sanatoriums, as well as tuberculosis. Especially since tuberculosis was perceived as a disease that was mostly caught by people who were poor. I'm in the midst of doing some family genealogy and have been unable to uncover any information on my grandfather's sister past a certain point, including date of death or death certificate. It's like she just disappeared. The fact that Renee was able to leave the sanatorium and spend a little time out in the world before her death was a small blessing. It's also wonderful that she is remembered and somewhere that fans can visit.

I really enjoyed this. A lovely tribute to a silent film star. I enjoy your films on the silent era stars. I would like to hear more about them. A special favorite is Conrad Veidt. He had a fascinating life and career. Died at age 50 while playing golf with his physician. I am also interested in the Bunker Hill neighborhood as it was so often used as a set for film noir in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Is there any Bunker Hill left? I think they tore it down when building the freeway. Just wondering. Love your films Jordan as I always learn something new!
