(I know _I'd_ never grab a giant python from "behind" like that.) And Ms. Tarantula just drops 99% of why people loathe arachnids: the multiple eyes and the terrifying _fangs._ No, Webs is _adorable._ I can't stop replaying the shot in which she bats at the hand of the (once again, not afraid) cop who's taking her, uh, "prints." Disclaimer: I'm not slandering Bad Guys, these were my personal opinions before I looked at other peoples' reviews. That makes a lot of sense actually, I actually was kinda bothered by how only most of the notable characters are anthropomorphic animals and everyone else are human, which didn't make sense storywise. I wouldn't have been bothered by the presence of normal animals in the movie (like the many guinea pigs) if there were other side characters that were anthropomorphic animals too. But hey, I think I'm more of the kind of person to look at the contribution of these character designs to the world they're put in first instead of looking at the symbolism first. I also used to find it kinda lazy that they were just called Wolf, Snake, etc. instead of having actual names (Then I got mad later that they had generic names but Diane Foxington and Prof. Marmalade didn't), though now that I see this reply, it makes a lot more sense. It would've been cool if this was canon and the movie revealed to us what their real names would've been. I didn't have all bad opinions about the movie, I noticed the comic-like animation similar to SpiderMan: Into The Spiderverse and I found that cool. The story, albeit a liiiiiittle bit cliche, had little touches that were creative. As a Hamilton fan, I love how they got Anthony Ramos to sing "Good Tonight," that was fire. I also love how Marmalade wasn't the generic "I look good and righteous but I'm actually bad muahahhha!!" where it's painfully obvious that he's the bad guy. He has his little annoyed moments while pretending to be good, which did make it kinda obvious but was also justified annoyance (I would be annoyed too if someone called my heart statue a butt), but his 'morals' are actually realistic enough that it was justifiable that the characters believed his intentions. If that makes sense. And hey, it's a cartoon movie, it didn't need to be realistic anyway. Okay but enough rambling, what I really wanted to say is thank you for your opinion and for changing mine! I was confused about a lot of things in the movie and this explained most of them.

Ngl I saw that plot twist coming from miles away, but it didn’t change my enjoyment of the scene. I will never get over the animation style of this movie, and how comic-like it is. The action lines, the smear frames, the arcs on the spinning objects, it’s so well-made!

So, I originally wanted to watch Puss in Boots 2 cause I heard people praising the villain and his intro and the darker themes running throughout it. I was disappointed (but not surprised) when it wasn't on Netflix. But the first movie my eyes went to in the "Movies like this" was, you guessed it, The Bad Guys. So, at about 1:20 AM I shrugged off my notions of a sleep schedule, hit play, and prepared to see what The Bad Guys had to offer. Holy. Crap. This movie. Is so. Freakin'. FUN. (more on that later!) I once read somewhere that a good movie/show/book/story/WHATEVER it is, should set the tone/mood of the WHOLE thing in the first scene (preferably the establishing shot if possible). The Bad Guys NAILS it. It's funny, it's witty, the voice acting is SUPERB (the characters just feel so comfortable and their lines aren't forced or feel weird, and just. GAHHHH). And then not only do they go right into a mini-heist, but THE CAR CHASE SCENE. UGH!!! Wolf really wasn't lying when he said it's (one of) the best part(s). It's just so goddamn fun to watch!! I could rant about this gem for a quite a while. And yeah, some of the story beats are to be expected, but y'know what? I DIDN'T CARE!! Cause the animation was fun and fluid and the voice acting was great and did I mention it's also got some great jokes? And jeeeeeeeeesus this ^^^^^ scene. Besides Mitchell's VS. The Machines (I'm sure there's more I just can't think of them at the moment), I can't remember the last time I saw a beautifully animated, fun, and just AWESOME action sequence. AND THE HORNS IN THIS MOVIE OH MY GOD. In this scene and the opening one especially. Like in the 1st Incredibles intro, they just POP and get your blood pumping! So all in all, if you haven't seen this movie, grab a snack, boot it up, and just enjoy a good ol' fashioned animated heist movie about crooks with (maybe eventually) hearts of gold.

I won’t comment about how amazing the style and animation are, because I’ll be here all night. So instead: Let’s all be honest… we knew she was the CP almost immediately when meeting her. Saw right through Marmalade too. When I saw that I got sad because I thought “Well there goes the plot twist…” only to be hit with 3 more at the end I REALLY didn’t see coming! This movie is just perfect.

I love this movie so much but one thing confuses me. So at the ending when Marmelade has the diamond by accident, the police accuses him of being the Crimson Paw. That doesn’t make since since even though you can’t see there face, there is a height difference.

I love that they went for really unique risks in this movie. The animation is wonderful and what I really like, the characters are not childish, on the contrary, they are all adults. They appeal to everyone equally. Also there are really good foreshadowing moments, the Crimson Paw is mentioned once before in a side comment alongside other criminals to be revealed an hour later, that's how you do it right. It isn't in your face.

@bighand15302 жыл бұрын
@@Graavigala85 Does make a difference when the movie was made in 2009. And not within the 2010’s or 2020’s. Ginormica is a pretty big and strong female lead character. But it’s not like she can do it all. She had help from the other monsters in certain situations. And character wise, she is a lot perkier and isn’t all that obnoxious when compared to those kind of characters nowadays. I know there are other examples, but Ginormica is one example for me in particular that stands out big time(no pun intended)on how do such a character.

It's actually really impressive what they did with Diane's character. She is by definition a Mary Sue, being the best in what she does with no drawbacks. What they did instead was add a comedy effect to her so that it doesn't become dull and have her be a secondary character which doesn't kill the pace, Infact it compliments it. The defining moment that taps into that character element with comedy enhanced effect is the time cut between her and the explosion. I will say, this is an excellent example on how to write a stereotype like this.

Diane (the crimson paw) was added to my list of good empowered female characters. only a few of them are on there. movie creators out there, stop making bad female empowered movies, stop making males look like scum on the earth, we males are 50% of your viewing as well. Take a look at movies/TV shows that did it right, Avatar The Last Airbender, Moana, The Incredables 1 (not 2), Encanto. learn what these shows/movies did and come back with something better.
