Szayel is my absolute favorite character and has been the reason I keep getting back into bleach. I actually have this man Tattooed on my leg. I was so excited seeing Szayel come back in the new chapter.

1 correction tho: it wasn't power that made him lose control during his reign as nr0, but carnal urges. He was to easily taunted, angered, impulsive, he couldn't even enjoy torturing his victims cause he usually accidentally killed them. Most of those basic emotions stemmed from his bro, so he regressed to start over. Other than that, thanx for the great vid about our favs espada octava

I’m a huge anime fan but I had no idea they censored so much out of the original manga. This definitely changes the gravity of a character & I appreciate you for exposing this to me. Makes me want to read the OG manga to get the full feel because this changes everything! Great work as always!

Read the manga. A lot of interactions and context were omitted in the anime. The censorship also downplayed Orihime's ability due to how critical some of the injuries were that only Orihime could heal them.

Thank you for this comprehensive retrospective on one of Kubo's favorite, and most interesting Espada characters. He seems at his best when shown in contrast to Mayuri Kuratsuchi. The expansion of the character of Szayal Apporo into Cien Granz in "Spirits Are Forever with You" seems somewhat contradictory to the character's appearance in Kubo's "Hell Arc" teaser. I hope Kubo will continue "New Breathes from Hell" and we'll see more of this character to disambiguate this contradiction.

No. Him and #9 went to Hell because they were sinners. That's if you take Kubo's Hell Verse teaser chapter as being accurate. Kubo himself said years ago that he designed that chapter to give him room in case he wanted to expand on the series via Hell.

I'm assuming that, like most hollow holes, it passes through center-mass. I would further assume that the diameter of the hole is limited by proportionate anatomical practicality - giving Szayal Apporo the narrowist hollow hole of any Espada... Hmm... perhaps it's best not to consider it too closely...

i don’t get it. So if szayelaporro is in hell, does that make ep 299 and hell verse canon? If so, what time does the ep and the movie take place in? During the arrancar arc or after? Cuz if it took place during the arrancar arc, it wouldn’t make sense because Ichigo was busy fighting the arrancars and aizen. And if it took place after, it wouldn’t make sense either because ichigo lost his powers due to the final getsugatensho. So yea, idk
