as an Eagles fan… I think Emmitt was the best… he was so poised, balanced, great vision, and never seemed to take a direct hit… he was judo-like and ultimately the best I have ever seen… yes his o line was great, but he contributed mightily to their greatness.

Everyone always talks about Sanders. Smith still does not get enough credit for what he could do. He might not have been as fast as Sanders, but he still had the moves and cuts. The greatest I believe.

Emmitt Smith. Could play with a hurt shoulder, from week 17 to Super Bowl 28. And a pulled hamstring, but when Dallas needed him the most, he was there for the call. And played his guts out every single week. I'll take him on any team I coach for. Hurt shoulder, didn't matter, still was am impact player, pulled hamstring, didn't matter, to him, pain was just temporary.

Barry Sanders may have been the best runner of all time. Mr. Smith is the best running back of all time. Still the NFL's all-time rushing leader.
for those that say it was his O-Line.... Look at how he made people miss. Look at how he got yards after contact. Very nifty. People say O-Line because smith is humbler and always mentions the O-line.

Wrong. One hall of famer, Larry Allen. Emmitt had 3 rushing titles in a row, 2 Super Bowls, 1 super bowl mvp before Larry Allen was ever drafted. They had some great players on that line no doubt. But there are other lines with multiple hall of famers. I’m fact the Cowboys offensive line was constantly changing, it wasn’t a line consisting of the same players. The one common denominator was Emmitt.

Noticed that most of his scores were from within 20yrds out. That's because his team was so great they were always in the RedZone which is why he holds the all-time rushing TD record and not Berry Sanders whom was a better back but didn't have the competitive team.
@DC4L993 жыл бұрын
Most rb scores are within 20 plus yards. “Always in the red zone” You’re just generalizing, Smith was the focal point and identity to the Cowboys offense. No rb had a greater career than Emmitt Smith. And he is the all time leader in yards and rushing tds, whether you like it or not 💯✌️.
@thegorn683 жыл бұрын
How ridiculous and clueless you are! How do you think the Cowboys got down inside the red zone so much? WHO got them there most of the time? Aikman didn't put up gaudy passing stats and never threw for more than 23 TDs in a season. The Lions used to take Barry Sanders out at the goal line and insert Derrick Moore or Tommy Vardell to run the ball. They even did a lot of QB sneaks. Emmitt was a GREATER short yardage and goal line back. Also, it is a blatant LIE to say that Sanders wasn't surrounded by talent and that the Lions were a trash team in the 90's. In fact, that was the LAST time they were consistently good.
@piijay143 жыл бұрын
@@thegorn68 I agree with everything you just said..but youre still missing my point!! Emmitt was a better in short yardage & blocking. Barry was a faster back! I dont necessarily think faster translates to better but we do know Emmitt had the better team and its no lie that Sanders was NOT surrounded by the caliber of talent Emmitt was. Otherwise Detroit would have the Rings..now would'nt they??
@kornwhiskey952 жыл бұрын
@@thegorn68 (this is a response to that guy you talked with piijay) surrounded by talent? You do realize that Emmitt was the the last piece, those teams were horrible before Emmitt got there, I’m a Cowboys fan so I know this, go back and look at the 3-13 team, that was Tom Landry’s team with Nate Newton, Mark Tuninei, Kevin Gogan Michael Irvin, Ken Norton, Jim Jeffcoat, & Bill Bates were already there. The 1-15 team Darryl Johnston & Mark Stepnoski was added, and they still were not good. A year later Emmitt gets there demands the ball more they then go 7-9, 11-5, 13-3, 12-4 WHY!!? Because Emmitt MADE THEM BETTER because he was a threat and the offense ran through him, without him they couldn’t function which is why he is the only Cowboys player in their history to be league MVP. Barry as good as he was was no Emmitt Smith, and YES Barry had talent around him but did he elevate his teams like Emmitt?? Nooooo!!!
@miketike32462 жыл бұрын
OH YEAH, Ezekiel Elliot is just like this guy right?
@felizlara15642 жыл бұрын
No, Elliot is a power runner, Emmitt was a finesse runner, he will wait for his blocks, but at times he waits for his opponents reaction then he follows the opposite.
