He was so accurate. He could have piled up monster stats but it was the 90s and we were a running team with the future all time leading rusher. Again he was so accurate and had total command of an offense with HOF talent everywhere. Its so annoying when people say he's overrated. He was # 1 overall pick, multiple pro bowler, 3x SB champ, SB mvp , HOFer and was a guy who was all about winning rings instead of personal stats. Not to mention he was tough as hell and played in a era where there wasn't really roughing the passer. Suffered 12 concussions and played games where he was still dazed at the press conference . Like I said a total beast .

He would have been in 8 superbowls if he played right now. Troy Aikman was tough as steel. Modern day football is soft almost the equivalent to flag football.

People also forget that even though he got hurt a lot, he still won 90 games in the 90's which was the most for a QB. So Troy did something right to win 90 games as a QB even though he was hurt a bunch.

Aikman was a great example of how a QB doesn't always need to put up gaudy numbers to put up gaudy winning percentages. The primary responsibility of a QB is to make the plays that secure victory for his team, and don't take stupid risks. Aikman was a rock solid fundamental QB.
@joshuajackson75963 жыл бұрын
Facts I literally said the exact same thing. Guy wanted to win rings. That was his ultimate goal. And he achieved it multiple times.

Agreed and Aikman is one of the best postseason qbs of all time. If you count all 3 super bowl years, he had a 17-4 td/int ratio, 113 passer rating and a 69%. completion percentage.

The QB sneak vs SD was the GWTD in his first ever win, home opener 1990. The third TD pass was Nov 89....I am a Cowboys historian....still to me the most courageous and greatest TD pass ever thrown... best ever COWBOYS TD pass ever, Troy lay on the field blood streaming from his ear for 10 mins. Also look at TD pass 1 vs ATL....the BEST EVER COWBOYS uniform and the accuracy in stride

Troy Aikman had an incredible combination of anticipation, arm strength, intelligence, and accuracy. The number of times he put the ball in a tight space where the only player able to catch it was the receiver at varying distances and how he was able to hit receivers in stride nearly every time from all over the field were things of marvel. I miss watching Troy play...especially when Dak Prescott comes onto the field.
