DCS Authorization Could Use Some Work

Nothing crazy...I just wish I could play offline when their servers are down...or I'm....offline. The way they allow that right now is insufficient in my opinion. Thanks.

The worst part to me is that their website promises that if you set your DCS to offline mode then you can use your modules indefinitely. For me I've only ever been able to launch DCS twice after setting to offline mode before it forgets that I am the legal owner of these modules and gives me a 2 day warning

My modules are fine Its just my mods not working on my end and came here to figure out what went wrong with my mods. Showed me this exact same thing but for the F-22 and F-15EX. Unsure if its steam issue or my mod installation issue.

I've never really figured out what exactly causes this and what to do about it. I know if their auth service goes down it will throw these kinds of errors, or if you legitimately don't have access to the modules. But I'm not sure what to do about mods that are getting kicked. You could attempt to reinstall them, perhaps. But I'm not sure if that would work or not.

Acctually i downloaded a mod, and uninstalled it shortly after because it was to fps expensive... It was a shader called reshade, its an injector i believe... I think that this error mainly occurs when you install mods. Most people in this comments have the same result after installing mods.........

I played DCS World open beta last Saturday April 20 2024 specifically my F-14B Tomcat practicing my Case 1, 3 Aircraft carrier traps everything was fine the next day April 21 20, 2024 my F-14b module is missing it gave me a message that it has been disabled it doesn't show up on my welcome screen where it shows All of the aircraft that I have purchased. it's been six days now so far and like most guys I paid a lot of $$$ for these aicraft ,missions, modules . I 'm currently trying to get help and resolve this issue right now. I 'm considering uninstalling and re-installing it. any help will be greatly appreciated .Thanks.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the Sim, It made no difference, still said unauthorised access to flaming hills, Checked the Time date thing made no difference, uninstalled all other Mod's... made no difference! It seems a common error and no one available to explain WTF is going on...!

If you have a steam version of the game and you have linked your steam account to your username, an authorization error will appear. To get rid of the error, it is enough to unlink the steam account on the site

I have the same problem i bought The F15 and the Su27 from steam and bound my Steam account to my Standalone and then i just start Standalone DCS Version just like normal and those Modules just dont work. I have tried evrything but nothing worked. Did you find a fix?

I cannot believe no one has successfully hacked it so you can play offline forever. Most people play online, they are worried that everyone would just go offline if they could to avoid paying, rubbish. They might have to be sued

They have some bits in the EULA and probably somewhere else covering them if they want to revoke access. In reality I believe they still own the modules and we've paid a 1 time fee to use them until ED decided we can't anymore. So legally I think they're covered. But I still wish we had a better option for offline play.

i have 54 dlc´s and now i bough a new pc just for DCS but somehow all the licenses are somehow invalid..im going nuts here, i have spent more than 1000euros with ED and now i just cant play i need to contact support i guess, i use it trough steam, shouldn't they know i have the modules? in steam is clear they are all there, how in the world is this even possible, i have 886 games on steam and it is the first time i see a error like this sating i dont have permission because i dont own these DLC´s .... what a joke, with my ED user name and password shouldn't be more than enough for the servers to see im a user with all these modules and maps and campaigns»?

I'm guessing it has something to do with Steam VS Standalone. I've never bought DCS products through Steam so I'm not really sure how all that works, but it may be that you're DCS auth token is not being communicated with Steam, or your Steam auth token isn't being communicated with the DCS servers...or something like that. But I'm not sure. Did you install DCS from Steam on your new PC?

Normally you get this message when you have a mod installed incorrectly or when you're offline. If it's an ED server issue, which is honestly rare, it usually comes back within an hour or so. If you keep getting it there are a number of issues it could be. I'd check my network first.

I was installing the fa18 f mod for the fa18c module and well now I have no authorization I uninstalled it and everything so far seems like I lost 80$ what do I do

You're not out the money I'm sure, it just may take some work to get it right sided. Did you remove all the mod files then reinstall the F/A-18C Lot 20 Hornet? If so, you might submit a ticket on the DCS website. They may not be able to do much sine it seems the problem started with the installation of a mod, but it's a start. A lot really depends on how you installed the mod and all that. My bet is that if it's not working after a reinstall of the official module that there are some lingering mod files messing it up, but that's just a guess.

Well we buy this stuff, we should still be able to play them even when the net is down. I am not spending anymore money with them. This is twice this week for me. Very annoying. Every time I think I am home, I have more traveling to do. SMH

I would guess just log out of Steam and back in. It sounds like there is something off between your Steam account and DCS. Then if that fails you might log a support ticket with Steam or with DCS to see if they can help you sort it out. Auth issues annoy me but luckily they can usually be fixed by getting a new auth token through a log out/in process.

This one was because their servers were down. If you've been getting such messages for several days you should double check that you're signed in then log a support ticket on their website. There may be something going on with your account.

If you want to delete it you can go into the modules list inside DCS and look for your installed modules. There will be an uninstall option. Then DCS will restart and you can go back to the list, look for available, find that one and install it.

Yeah, they started this kind of online authentication before they did their free trials though. I do like their free trials and I think it's cool. I just don't want to have my access to modules I've paid for revoked if my internet goes down for a bit or if I choose not to have internet any more. Anyway, I agree with you. I'm not sure what the best answer is but they do have to be careful.
