So road adhesion comes down to 3 mechanisms Hysteresis, Adhesion and Tearing. Hysteresis is the physical interference between the tyre and the road surface as the tread deforms to fill any pits in the surface. This is where the texture of the surface really matters. Adhesion is the chemical bonding, the tyre forms monetary molecular bonds with the surface of the road. The rougher the road surface the more the tread deforms and allows a larger surface area to contact the road. This is why soft compound tyres are grippier, because once the rubber has bonded it’s contaminated, softer compounds wear the rubber away quicker to expose more fresh rubber to bond with the surface. Then there’s Tearing. This is the point where the combination of hysteric and molecular adhesion between the tyre and road exceed the structural adhesion of the material itself resulting in it tearing and being deposited on the road skid marks are an example. This will always occur to some extent and is responsible for the tread wearing.

Long range electric trucks; there's Scanias with pantographs being trialed. All that about car people getting things to go faster, it's not like there aren't bike people who waste a load of money on carbon fibre "performance" parts and exhausts that make no difference; it's all just a hobby for their own entertainment, for some reason people can't just say "because i wanted to" when asked why they do something.

I only watch the stream after it's finished, so I can fast forward through the nonsense and pettiness to the subjects I enjoy watching.

I always watch it after but not because I fast forward it Im usually working Saturday so it provides me with 75%-80% of my weekly KZbin watching until the next one is out 😂😂

You mean "I hope that makes sense""😂😂😂

I enjoy them more live. So for me it's a shame that the time changed. I live down under. So I'd stream it to my shed TV on a Saturday night while buggering around with the bikes etc. Same thing for vice grip garage, it's almost like having a shop buddy. He works in his projects while I work on mine. There's no way I could watch the whole live streams with full attention and not doing something else at the same time.

Matt, please do a bike build, l want to see how it's done properly as all the channels l watch can't....apparently.

I prefer cars because I understand them. I got my degree in motorsport engineering and am doing my masters, the vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics and data analysis of a car are all things I’ve at the very least got a decent understanding of. I can look at data from a lap and know what I need to do to improve the time. I have none of that with bikes. I love them but I’ve done too many cold dark long journeys on a 40 year old 100cc 2t with a 6v candle light that I appreciate the ability to adjust the heat or have a drink 😂

Because it’s America (ginger) I think doesn’t matter about losing money, I think with his dads business somehow using as a Tax loss. Maybe sponsorship, training, new venture etc. So he’s not losing money his dad probably saving loads on tax.

The only thing you bike people ever ask about bikes being "how fast does it go" is because going fast is all a bike does 🙂. It does that well, but some of us like to go fairly fast while doing other things, like taking more than one small bag of stuff somewhere...
