57:00 It's an old mechanics trick, grease on the gasket, you can grease both sides and the gasket won't stick permanently to the engine OR the cover.

Hylomar has always been in a yellow tude never seen it in white/blue tube in 55 years.
@BungleBare11 ай бұрын
Also, why “use up the old stuff” when the “new stuff” is in a half-empty tube? I’ve been dicking about with cars since the late ‘90s and Hylomar blue has ALWAYS been in a yellow tube in that time, and the first partial tube of it I had was given to me by a neighbour and probably at least five years old then (meaning it was produced, at the latest, in the early ‘90s). Conclusion: the “old tube” was at least 25 years old when Del used it in the video or, more likely, he’s used something inappropriate instead, realised, and instead of getting a new gasket and starting again with Hylomar he left the mystery gunk in place and tried to just explain it all away. Either way, it was the wrong stuff to use, and would probably fail in no time. Maybe this explains why the ‘bike has only covered 1500 miles or so in the past few years; laid up constantly by a never-ending stream of reliability niggles caused by Del’s “expertise”, until the last owner just had enough of it and sold it on again?

Matt really really stupid question but what type of torque wrench would you use for casing bolts with torque settings between 10nm and 14nm? I have a beef 🍖 torque wrench already but was wondering if you would use that or would you have a small version a little like a push bike type? Thanks in advance 😊

Teng are all I use. I have three. 1/4" drive, 3/8" drive and 1/12" drive. All with angle-indicators too. NEVER buy a cheap torque wrench. Teng are like 40quid or close dependant on model.

24:05 I have it(on inner boss) on my bike. But I admit that previous owner was worse than Del(he put oil into brakes instead dot4) 26:10 As I understand this catching in grooves cause only excessive clutch drag. No full disengagement. And you can feel well even small drag. One pair of plates with slightly higher friction is enough to feel that bike wants to move. Some people fix dragging clutch by filing groves. Yes, barbarian way, but works if it was the cause.

If it's a zx7r he's working on which I think it is they have a hydraulic clutch, that's how he know's its not the cable causing it to slip.

He put the clutches in the oil right before the "24h later" intro. Not even 24 minutes. Sepia tones has the secondary effect of helping hide the fact they didn't get any darker absorbing the oil. Delsplaning is always so entertaining. Hear that mouth go. The Hylomar trick really shows the level of lies and his audience. 57:22 "It is a product that Never Dries" 58:04 "Let it Kinda Dry" Couldn't be more opposite.

Hey Matt i have a doubt regarding the front axle bolt on the ktm 390 duke. Why is it not like a conventional bolt and nut like in the rear? The front is this axle which goes through and then there is a smaller bolt which threads into the axle from the other side and there are 2 pinch bolts for the axle why is this specific arrangement given and not just a nut and bolt arrangement?
@dirtygarageguy11 ай бұрын
"Why is it not like a conventional bolt and nut like in the rear?" A nut and bolt (shaft and fastener) do one thing, clamp two things together. The whole bikes weight is transfered along with any momentum through the forks and into the axle, through the bearings and into the wheel. This amount of force would shear a arrangement like the rear, instead a large surface area is required and the direct transfer into the shaft itself. Great question.
