Practical effects has always been a great thing for cinema and swamp thing is the character to go that route of production. If mangold does direct the film I seriously hope he goes more into the 1950’s style of horror. Maybe don’t do the black and white cinematography but maybe take little inspirations for example the creature of the black lagoon.

Way too early to know, but the way Gunn spoke about a ‘mysterious threat which connects to the whole story’ in the Lanterns show, as well as the early introduction of Supergirl, gives me a feeling they’re heading for Braniac as the chapter 1 big bad. Personally though, I’d love to see a civil war-esque film around all the lantern corps, which could then lead into the blackest night story for a Justice League level threat, involving the black and white lanterns. Edi: afterthought; a black lantern story could be a new and unique way to revive Jason Todd…

I absolutely love the Kingdom Come Idea premise if that's actually the case! Like what the hell? It's perfect now that I think about it. To add to it all, perhaps that is why Superman's movie is titled 'Legacy' despite him being so young, his film could be of him inspiring these new heroes. Also this could be why the Batman film and his world is going to focus on the Batman family, because they are in a way, the new generation as well. So is Supergirl. Supergirl is being adapted by a Tom King run where she starts off meaner, it adds to the premise of Gods and Monsters. Swamp Thing could be about how these monsters of said generation are messing up with 'The Green,' which angers him. Wow, it's all adding up beautifully. Granted, we could be way off. But I hope that this is the case!

I just wanted to address the implication that Damian introduced, how DCU would handle the fact Batman could have other Robins beforehand, especially introducing this concept to the audience that thought there was only Dick Grayson. Sure, Nightwing could be easily explained, but we also have Jason the second Robin who died and had a huge impact on Batman, and Tim who for a long time acted as the Robin. It just seems like a bunch of story summaries that happened off the screen. I wonder if they gonna indeed do all three Robins, or be creative with it.

I don't think that would be too much for the audience to handle. Batman having had multiple Robins shouldn't be something revelatory. Dick can easily be explained as having gone his own way after a while and become his own superhero, Nightwing, while still on good term with Bruce. If Jason's still dead, they can just talk about him briefly as an "I don't wanna talk about it" situation for Bruce (they can save the Under the Red Hood storyline for a sequel). Tim could either still be Robin when Bruce finds Damian and takes him under his wing and then decides to become Red Robin; or they could go with him already having become Red Robin by the time of this film, similar to Nightwing.

For ‘Brave and The Bold’ the movie should be a Hyper-Octane Action Movie (similar to Mission Impossible Or John Wick), the Most Action Oriented of the DCU Slates (Christopher McQuarry as Possible Director?, Andy Muschietti for Supergirl:Woman of Tomorrow) this allows the DCU Batman to Differentiate from Matt Reeves Batman Universe which is a Suspense, Noir Crime Drama. For HBO MAX’s The Lanterns a ‘Noir Mystery Thriller’ that then setup the Blackest Night Saga OR Justice League: BLACKEST NIGHT Saga and becomes a ‘Lovecraftian Horror, Zombie Apocalypse’ with the Main Villains Necron and Black Hand. For ‘Paradise Lost’ have the Atlanteans be the Main Rival with ARION the Mage as an Antagonist, as ‘A Fantasy EPIC’ Series, you have a Feuding ‘Factions’ Between Amazons VS Atlanteans that could be setup for the Next Wonder Woman Movie (territory Disputes?) AND/Or a Battle between the Old God, ARES War God /Amazons Vs KING Poseidon/Atlanteans! I think Artemis And Yara Flor, Both Fan Favorites should be Included in the ‘Paradise Lost’ Series.

it’d be cool if in Brave and the Bold, we see the way Bruce teaches Damian is affected by Jason’s death. like you said if Jason’s death has already happened, Bruce could be struggling taking on a new Robin, and it changes the way he goes about his methods, especially because Damian is his biological son. If this is the case we’d learn about Jason’s passing through storytelling, rather than actual getting a movie based around that story, and then save the Red Hood storyline for a future sequel.

I have no way of knowing this, due to the obvious fact that I'm not an executive at DC, but what if Superman: Legacy is more of a precursor to the actual DCU continuity, and it's actually a prequel to the universe? That way, we are quickly introduced to arguably the most important hero in the DC Universe, and we are able to see what happens before the other movies happen? We can see a World's Finest film in between Superman: Legacy and Batman: The Brave and the Bold, and that can sort of fill in the gap as to what eventually happens! Just a thought. It would certainly help explain the age-gap between Bruce and Clark using context clues and timelines. Anyways, keep up the great work Boba! Another outstanding video.

I was theorizing with the combination of both television, movies and games and ended up coming back to that Wonder Woman Game that’s in development by Monolith who also made Shadow of War with the nemesis system. They’re currently working on the game of thrones esque tv show too. The fact that there was no romance between Bruce and Thalia, she just picked Batman as the best warrior to father her son, is a major point on her character. This age bending will force a romantic relation between them even before Bruce becomes Batman, and that will do no good to her portrait in the DCU, which is sad.

So here's how I would do it: when we start the movie Jason has been ''dead'' for quite a long time and that thing still weighs a little on Bruce Tim has also been Robin for along time (the longest lasting robin) and then we do the whole plot of Damian becoming Robin and Bruce, Tim, Dick, and Damien fight the League of Shadows and one of the shadows is a red hooded ninja (kind of like Young Justice) and then maybe at the end or the post credit we reveal that was Jason to lead us into The Brave and The Bold: Under the Red Hood

With Dick Grayson already being Nightwing age in the DCU, do you think Wally will be The Flash of the DCU? In my mind, Wally and Dick should be around the same age and you can’t really have him as Kid Flash if he’s a grown man, and with the Ezra Miller situation maybe it’d be easier to just have Barry die and pass the mantle to Wally and have him carry on as The Flash throughout this universe. Or they can have Barry and Wally coexist as Flash at the same time and Wally is with The Titans. For the new Batman DCU timeline, I'd like the new film to be similar to the new 52-inspired universe "Son of Batman" animated film, with something happening in the league of assassins causing Talia to hand Damien off to Batman, and he brings him to the cave; with Damien being Damien, he escapes into the city, with Dick Grayson already being established. Nightwing comes across him, and delivers him back to the batsman, and he can have a role like a babysitter for Damien in the movie. A scene in the Batcave could feature the suits of the core batfamily members: Dick, Barbara, Jason, and Time, with Dick mentioning that Barbara is retired, Jason is dead, and Tim is the current Robin leading the Titans. Throughout the sequels, we can maybe see some more batfamily members like Cassandra becoming the new batgirl, Kate Kane, and an Under the Red Hood movie, but with Jason attacking the whole batfamily like that one Lego movie. The theme of this Batman in this universe could be about Batman coming to terms with having a family and allies.

It’s not the same thing. The slate’s name seems to be just a reference to the general arc of this first phase. Considering in the animation Batman was Kirk Langstrom and Superman was Zod, it’s safe to say it won’t be an adaptation to that story at all.

I think a young Robin 10-12 could make sense in the way Logan did it, he was sent Damian for whatever reason but he’s a murderer and doesn’t respect Batman and disobeys him so it’s more of a Bruce Wayne trying to get him in line and doesn’t willingly bring him out fighting crime with him, maybe he breaks out on his own and he has to go after him to keep him from killing and then gets in to a situation where he can’t just send him back and he’s forced to protect him but realizes he can hold his own but still has to fight him at moments to keep him from killing I kinda picture it like Logan or the last of us in terms of their relationship at least at first

James Gunn mentioned wanting to input other Bat Family members in Brave and the Bold. I hope we get one or two of them in the movie but doubt we will get all of them at once. Hope I could help!

@@WeTheFlock Thank you for the reply. Yes I did hear what he said about the bat-family, however if you read what Peter said it wasn't finite. Look we know we all know we will never get a comic book accruate live action superhero movie, so that makes me wonder since Damien is Gunn's favorite Robin, how much of his backstory/character arc will he keep in the DCU and how much will they change. That's why I stated until we dont know more we dont know if Daimen is the FRIST robin to this new Batman. and when he talks about the bat-family he could just be talking about Alfred, Catwoman, Bat-girl, the signaland Batwing. Don't Get me wrong Jason and Tim definitley need to be on the silver screen because its long over due, however we were merley just given titles and quick summaries about these select shows and films of Chapter one and they left too many questions that definitely need to answer.

I think people are forgetting DC can tell Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman stories in the background like Marvel does for the Hulk or in the way Titans and Doom Patrol referenced events from the comics to give us an idea of the timerline. We should be seeing the trinity pop up in other character's stories before and after their solo outings. This isnt rocket science to me. There is a smooth easy to digest way to do this.

When it comes to special f/x... practical effects works better for shows with not huge f/x budgets... if you have a huge budget for f/x you can afford more CG ironically to look better... but a CG budget that is not big, the CG can look quite average or bad

This is my prediction. All core characters (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Shazam and Aquaman) will be recast once the current slate of movies are released and done for this year. If Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is successful they will make a third film to close out the trilogy but label it an Elseworlds movie so Momoa can play Lobo in the new DCU. By the time Shazam 3 comes about the actor playing Billy Bateson will be aged up so he can play both roles, but what they will most likely do is have one of the other kids take over as Shazam, most likely one of the girl characters.
