I started out my journey of drawing for my manga in December last year and came across your channel around 2 months after and have loved your stuff man! My goal is to communicate my story with as much immersion as possible which I'm very confident I can do BUT as you stated even for yourself I compare my art style to those who have been in the game for longer and it really hits me hard sometimes but I'm slowly getting over it. Watching this video helped me really realise I'm not the only one who feels this way and that I'm not the only one obsessed with Akutami's at style! All in all thanks for the video keep up the content DD! Regards from all the way in England!

Not a fanart artist anymore but I'm pretty sure they enjoy what they do... There's something about drawing your own version of your favorite character that hits different for them... Art just soothes their nerves and they don't wanna see it as a job cause from their POV making your own characters and their own stories can be really stressful(and no one wants stress in their chill time) and they post cause it gives them this feeling of satisfaction when they share their art and people give their opinions on how to get better or what they did really well... Obviously this doesn't apply in the current age of social media cause of the level of toxicity, but that's basically it I thought the same too until I first made my very own character... I was ecstatic... I haven't still considered making comics but I have a ton of made up characters in my inventory (Not like I myself post on social media...I just view)

hi dd!!! i just started watching your videos. the first one i watched was the male torso one, and then i digged into some other videos such as basic anatomy, and also this one. i was really caught off guard by the intro about the basic question you asked. and i think my position is more or less the same as you. i want to be a comic artist but i got insecure because my mutuals, esp twitter moots are growing numbers so fast because of fanarts. i want to grow too so i started daily posting too and most of them are fanarts instead of my ocs. then bunch of people started following me but i got anxious too because i know i wont be forever posting fanarts. i drifted away from my goals i guess haha so... stumbling upon your videos and you asking that question is very important to me, i wanna do both tho (fanart and original story)... i just wanna say thanks for reminding me about our personal goal. and thank you for making tutorials, because it worked for me (or maybe im a fast learner HAHA hopefully). thank you so much again!
