When I was a kid my mum got me a book called How Things Work. It wasn’t a big book but it had anything from a jet engine to a vcr. Definitely fed my curiosity and led to me breaking the letterbox and the door to my dad’s rental van just exploring how things worked 😅 A few years ago my brother and I took our PS3 apart just from an instructional KZbin video like this. We didn’t fix what was wrong with it but the rush we got when it actually turned back on and worked the same as before we dismantled it was worth the effort. Plus we learned what thermal paste is. When I eventually get round to buying a car, this channel will be my 1st port of call when it needs fixed. Thank you mate 😊👍🏻

Paul, i know very little about making repairs to cars, but I watched this video from beginning to end. This fix didn't look that hard, but just had a lot of steps. I have to ask, where did you learn auto repair? Were you self-taught, or did you go through a formal training program? I honestly wonder if there is anything you can't do? It's great to see you happily occupied doing something you love and are good at. I'm up to learn more if you're willing to share your auto repair knowledge in more videos. ❤ Thelma (USA)
@PaulinPerth6 ай бұрын
Hi Thelma, my father taught me when I was a teenager. He used to fix cars, washing machines, kettles, whatever. He showed me that if you pull something apart, you can usually work out how it works. That was true in the 80s. Nowadays there is more electronics involved, so sometimes even pulling it apart doesn't help you, but now you have KZbin as well, so you have more clues. I assure you that there is plenty I can't do. I'm awful at soldering for example. My eyesight is nowhere near good enough for that. I can't do dent removal, spray painting or upholstery. If I had three lifetimes I'd learn those things, but I only have one, so I do what I do, and I share my knowledge with others. Paul.

hey what's your opinion on mazda ? I'm thinking about getting a mazda 3 of 2019
@PaulinPerth5 ай бұрын
Hi Lou, I've never owned a BP Mazda 3, so I have no direct experience with it. However, I've owned several BLs. The main complaint I hear about the BP Mazda 3s is that the electric folding mirror function stops working. So I'd check that before buying the car. The other compliant I hear is that the soul red paint is very very hard to colour-match. So paint repairs are very expensive for that specific colour, as you may need to respray the entire car. Perhaps avoid buying the soul red colour (except it is VERY cool to look at). Paul.
