This video aims to provide evidence based information about De Quervain's Tenosynovitis (AKA Mommy Thumb) and also Intersection Syndrome, by answering the 3 most common questions asked by people who have been diagnosed with the condition :-
1) What is it ?
2) Why do I have it ?
3) What can I do about it ?
The condition is usually a clinical diagnosis based on the history and examination findings. An MRI scan or ultrasound scan can be used to confirm the diagnosis and exclude other possible causes. Despite the number of videos on KZbin suggesting exercises to help with De Quervain’s, there is currently no good evidence to support the use of exercises for this condition.
