Staying in deepnest has the same feeling of staying in a dark room until your eyes become accustomed to the darkness and you can now vaguely see stuff really unsettling at first but once you can now finally see what's up with the place you are now less afraid of the things around you or I am just weird because my favorite place in the whole house is under the bed who knows

you are right in a way, i went there way too early in my first play through and it was initially s nightmare, but after a few nail upgrades it was a cake wall. the sound was still unsettling but nothing mute and playing bfg division over couldnt fix.

I actually really like the sounds of Deepnest. It sounds like a place that's still an ecosystem full of living creatures, unlike many areas of the game. I can imagine that it would eventually return to being a thriving wildland once the Radiance is dead, even if it was one of the areas that got hit the hardest by the infection. That sort of feeling gives me hope, even if it's a hostile land that the Knight is saving- their sacrifice, and the sacrifice of their siblings, wasn't entirely in vain. If any survivors or travelers wish to take residence in Deepnest after this is all over, they won't find empty, silent caverns, they'd find the ruins alive and chock-full of wildlife to hunt and live off of. Doesn't put me on edge (or sadden me) like Crystal Peak does

Idk if you've ever listened to the audio from the quieter areas like the ancient basin, but it's wildly uncomfortable. I don't think about it much while I'm playing, but listening back is a bit unnerving. When I first played, I actually found the Kingdom's Edge the most uncomfortable between the audio and the "snow," the track there is more ....thoughtful...? Than the other songs
