That was great. Never thought about how farms would survive the apocalypse. And I thought rural areas would be safe 😅 now I'm wondering how people on fishing boats etc would survive 😊

Biggest issue with the fishing boats would be drinking water. Can't imagine drinking river or lake water would be healthy, haha

A lot of big boats have desalination tanks for long times at sea. One of my freinds has a 36ft mini yatch and has a treatment system ​@DerekSlatonHorrorAuthor

We would probably have a relatively ok time surviving as long as we are out in the boonies. Our farn is near the edge of a VERY small town but still out of the way. So as long as we are careful or on doesnt just wander into the woods in our direction with the whole town i think we are good. And with the amount of peope part of our homestead and the amou t of weapons and ammo we have im sure we could handle anything the town could toss at us

Hello I know that feeling My quality of life living is very low and my outlook of having to go into hospital every couple of months maybe for one two or three visits of a few days each time because of a side affect of radiotherapy 20 years ago which was very aggressive and fried with third degree burns inside and out So Rodney having Derek let us into his story telling mind as a distraction and something to look forward to has kept me alive as well I think there are a few of us that are grateful to Derek Slaton the horror author for delivering us to evil and the good fights of his characters to save our sanity Take care may good karma be with you and your loved ones Karl

This was a terrific story, really interesting. The twins and their elderly neighbor seem to be likely to survive with a little luck. Would love to see more of them! While listening to you r stories , a thought came to me. While enjoying these stories, we al think about what we would do in the same situation. What if you were stuck in the apocalypse, and fell in with a bunch of strangers. Suppose you were the one with the fighting ability, and the canniness to survive---you were the one finding food and water, finding shelter, killing zombies, taking care of the others. But what if all the others in the group were useless, for various reasons? Maybe a woman with small children, someone elderly or disabled, others who are unable or unwilling to work at survival. What would you do, if you came to the conclusion that if you stayed with the group, you had no chance to survive? And what if you also reasoned that those people had little chance to live, without you around? There are good reasons why, in maritime law, a ship's captain, in a disaster, would make the announcement "every man for himself." It freed the sailors from any responsibility, moral or legal, other than to survive as best they could. When does the "every man for himself" idea come in, if you are a reasonably good person, stuck in the zombie plague? If you were a good, decent person, the idea of having to abandon the others, even if it was to save yourself, would be agonizing. To make a split second decision, in the heat of the moment, is far different than making a reasoned and planned decision to abandon others because it gave you a far better chance to live. What would you do, in that situation? Me, I might do what I could for the group and then take off. Would something like that make for a good story? I really like the tales of the zombie plague, in the early hours, or first days of the outbreak. There are just so many possibilities of people in all kinds of situations and places.

For the most part the "tales" stories are meant to be one offs, just to show some different aspects of the apocalypse. However I am planning stories further down the line (i.e. second month, etc) where some of these characters will be showing back up.
