The tower is where they keep the grain. Maggie said that Croatia had taken all the grain. Jenny also noticed that she had bread to eat. So she figured Maggie lied and That’s why Jennie went to warn Negan because he maybe in danger. I think Maggie is gonna trade Negan for her son.

The Croat was kicked out from the Saviors before Negan ever ran into Ricks group so him being in the lineup wouldn't make sense lol Negan himself specifically said "Well before your time". Infact how does he even know about Maggie. I'm going to assume he has people from the old saviors maybe that have told him or his scouts got information somehow.

I'll say this episode was definitely a big improvement over the first and I have a feeling Negan's knock knock scene will be in most people's top 5 Negan scenes. So far Negan has been the best part of the show since Maggie doesn't really do much imo. She mostly serves as the reason for the plot to keep moving as she's trying to save her son.

I think you’re slightly overthinking Maggie and Hershel’s strained relationship. Dude acted how literally every other moody teenager would act. I don’t think there’s too much more to it. I think that scene was there just to show that he isn’t Maggie’s little boy anymore and he’s slowly growing up and becoming more independent. Hopefully this means he’ll have more character beyond being a mcguffin for Maggie and negan to save.

It is also pretty evident that Maggie is overprotective, telling Hershel that he needs to be ready because people will come and try to hurt him. Hershel, being a moody teenager is clearly tired of it. You can't really blame Maggie, her father, sister and husband were murdered by people, 2 of them right in front of her.

Usually you hit but you missed on a couple of things. The main thing being "Rick's group attacked first." No. The saviors attcked Rick's group twice before the satellite station incident. There was Timmy and the Dick Bregade, and there was that shoot out with Daryl and I believe Sasha and Abraham. The second thing is that Ginny isn't actually from Oceanside and the New Hilltop is not located in Virginia. Maggie made up that Ginny was from Oceanside so they would accept her in the community easier. And finally about the Croat; they can't edit him in the line up scene because he should have been gone by that point. Negan mentions in his story that when he tried to kill him, it was before he met our group and when he made contact with the Kingdom.

The music is great and I’m glad you called it out. Two fun facts about the worst community in the show for those who might care: - Angela Kang said in Instagram comments at some point that they couldn’t get enough of the actors to film a final Oceanside scene for season 11 and also that Cyndie is alive and was simply on a fishing boat when the Commonwealth raided. I saw it doom-scrolling through the wiki testing my knowledge. I would have preferred them dead and their names added to the memorial, and not having any indication of this even through Lydia verbalizing her mail route is really lame, but whatever. - Oceanside is allegedly in Maryland. About 60 miles north of Alexandria. This is a good smidge closer than might be intuitive. Hilltop 2.0 could be another reasonable distance north of that? I’m still upset Hilltop 2.0 exists away from the iconic location we know and love - especially since it looked fine in the time jump. I assume it was motivated by logistics which would be lame

I really love that when Negan slits the Buraz throat you can see him for a split second making the same expression he made when he told Maggie hes sorry for what he did to Glenn, followed up by the not so subtle moment of him taking glass shards out of his bloody hands. It really adds to the earlier dialogue of him saying he was only a monster when he had to be and builds on the idea that hes been tortured by the things hes had to do

I think the water tower Ginny was looking at is a grain silo, which goes back to when Maggie explains to Negan that the Croat came and took all of their grain. So it’s weird that Ginny is immediately served bread when she arrives to Hilltop. Though, if this was the case, we should’ve gotten a scene of Negan mentioning it to Ginny on their way up to Hilltop.

A lot of the discussion that I am seeing is just thinking that Negan is back to "evil" and completely disregard the fact he doesn't LIKE being that Negan. He does it because no one else can and he is good at it. He wants to protect the ones he wants to protect and that's the way to do it. Just like he said, Abraham died because his people were killed in their sleep, and Glenn died because Daryl punched him and couldn't show weakness and had to save face (also keeping his word that the first one was free but he would "shut that shit right down" if they tried anything else). I really liked this episode for showing how Negan felt about his past self, hashing it out with Maggie, and then her seeing directly WHY he did what he did (to protect her this time no less) but also how much it pained him to do so. He just walks off and says "we need to go", what was there to say, he hates it but it needed to be done and they are alive and able to escape as a result. Great episode, I hope they keep this momentum and put Maggie and Negan on more level playing field by the end of it. They will never be real friends, but they can definitely become comrades by the end of it. Maggie is already conflicted because of her hatred. She sees that Negan changed, he saved Hershel before, Judith, Alexandria as a whole, he isn't EVIL, he just did bad shit and is doing his best to repent.

For Oceanside, there was supposed to be a scene in the finale showing that Oceanside survived the attack. It was cut because production issues kept them from being able to film it. I saw others mention this but, i think that water tower is a grain silo. People believe Maggie could've lied to Negan about the grain since Ginny was served bread. This is because if they had to save grain for the Croat, they might bot be wanting to make much bread

Youre not getting the point, Maggie is lying to Negan and bringing him to the Croat to get her son back. She is purposely bringing back old memories so that she has the heart to kill Negan even after he had redeemed himself and they had made up at the end of season 11 as she isn't just a cold blooded killer. Hershel is pissed at his mom because Negan saved him a few years ago when he was a little kid and Maggie likely offered the Croat Negan in a last attempt to get mercy from the croat. He may have recognized her and mentioned Negan and because she saw the way they took over the new hilltop she figured she could tell them she knew where negan was and could get him for the Croat and in return he would leave their people in peace. The Croat probably agreed and took her son and threatened him to make her get Negan to him faster. You could tell that the Croat already had the new hilltop because the grain silos were empty, and several other minor clues throughout the first and second episode suggest Maggie is on this mission, and ginny is just a innocent bystander to maggie so she probably left her there because she knew she would be safest and didn't want the Croat to take her along with Negan and she told them to tell the others that she's from oceanside so that she blends in and the Croat doesn't know of Negan's father-like relationship with her and doesn't try to take her too.

At @5:11 I dunno why but the reactions you get from Maggie and Hershal makes me believe the drawing of the superhero is actually Negan, and Hershal throws it cuz he knows what Negan did to his family and everything and is therefore dealing with some kind of personal conflict, that could also possibly be why Maggie is so bitter and angry and the main reason she asked for Negans help even though he knows who the Croat is. Just my personal theory I think would be cool!!!

Actually Negan said that the Croat left before the kingdom was attacked by saviours. So the Croat was there in the beggining and wasn't there during the war, or even during the situation with hilltop.

I will say that as someone who commits to New York regularly for like most of my life, my only criticism of dead city because it seems to be really well written for the most part is how underutilized and also to some degree. It seems like the writers only like know the search level of New York City and don't really know how to write how the city would probably be in the apocalypse. I think the only two good days that they wrote were that all of the boroughs are isolated because literally that's how New York's designed with the bridges that in the disaster they would destroy all of them to either protect the islands or quarantine all the problems onto the island so they don't spread. And the fact that Walker's on the higher buildings would wander off and fall from the sky. Things that I hope they cover. That makes me confused to someone who grew up around New York is what happened to the NYPD because the NYPD is such a big operation that they are often joked as an unofficial six of military wing of the United States government. The United Nations is also there and that's why I'm confused with the no more guns in the ammo because the NYPD is a literally a miniature US army. The second thing, which maybe is where them both I walker comes from, but a huge part of New York City is the subway system and in fact the subway system would be the only thing left to connect the different boroughs after the bridges are destroyed and I can either see it being used as part of the underground of the survivors or that it's a super dangerous death sentence area that everyone avoids because all the walkers have wandered around there. It would also explain why, even though there's obviously going to be huge chords cuz there's a millions of people in New York. It's like oh, I thought they'd be more. Where are they? And then you find out that most of them are in the subway making like really frightening imagery. Also, that would be interesting that occasionally this supermassive underground whore can emerge out of any subway station by accident. Again, this is from someone who's lived in New York City. I thought they would leverage it more. It seems like these are like Hollywood writers or writers from Georgia who've. Maybe visited New York once or twice or looked it up on Wikipedia but have never actually lived there.

If you just watched Negan make a knock knock joke while slicing open your groupmate's guts you'd probably be pretty fucking stunned by that and not know how to react. It's literally how Negan built the saviors. Look at the original lineup, Daryl is the only one that isn't really phased by anything even through a gunshot wound until Glenn gets killed. Which part of the shock from him was also that he realizes he caused that. But other than that even Rick didn't know how to react. Most people's reaction is freeze, Daryl's is the rare part of the response which was fight.

The "no guns" thing is one bs aspect of this show. New York City is FULL of guns. Despite New York City and New York states idiotic gun ban/control laws. Between the many decades of organized crime being prevalent in New York City and the city's attachment to the rest of the state, which itself is but a partbof the continental U.S.? Guns are not a rarity and wouldn't be all that rare inside a post-zombie apocalyptic New York City. Even if one just takes into account the many police precincts and the high likelihood of a military presence being in New York during any kind of catastrophe? Guns would be a lot more common than the show is representing. Even if they were only mostly in the hands of the more organized groups that might crop up after an apocalyptic event.
