The thought of a t-rex having the corvid ability to mimic human speech is SO terrifying and uncanny. Can't believe I never thought of it before. You can just imagine chilling Gene Wolfe-esque scenarios where it mimics the voice of a frightened child in the forest to lure out humans to prey upon.
@madmanarrivednow22 күн бұрын
Depends on how big the T-rex is. Or if we go with the no microtyrannus camp, which niche it covers. An Apex predator would not need such tricks. even if a T-rex can not "run" as fast as it was told in JP, Its speed would still be enough to catch an average human. However a juvenile with a smaller built, more agile, covering a separate niche, could go for it, and even its "pipes" could be in the ballpark of mimicking the tone and the speech patterns. However I'd give that for the dromeosaura-like dinos. "troodons" or what the nomen dubium covers, could already be the cuckoos of the dromeosauria (if we look at their fast growth, it makes sense).
@Dokari-l9m21 күн бұрын
@@madmanarrivednowto be fair tigers mimic their prey, despite being apex predators. So long as it was an adaptation that carried through the species they’ll be able to do it.

"It's cool and that's just how humans are sometimes" may be one of the best takes in worldbuilding I've heard. Sometimes I get too caught up in the plausibility and details that I forget to look at how the people in my world would behave. Cool video man! Will be looking forward from now on~~

Honestly this fits so well if the humans if they were able to coexist with the dinosaurs or the prehistoric mammals. With all the gears and saddles for them to ride, and the some equipment of armor for the occasion. And the last one when the natives people feared the ferocious predator that they made carvings and killed one of the cattles to feed their monster that is like worshipping him/her. Its a great idea, you should make your own animated series, pretty much to similar to Primal.

I saw a meme that referenced dinosaurs being able to mimic sounds & speech and that's scary. Jurassic Park would have been way more terrifying if Grant heard someone calling for Alan and seeing nothing but a raptor there.

Dead Gods is one of the greatest dinosaur fantasy worlds I have ever seen (that aren’t made by me who has 3 dinosaur fantasy projects, all but one of them being speculative evolution projects) Also: for any threats, large azhdarchids like Hatezgoptergyx and Qutezalcoaltus would be perfect hunters of mid-sized and small fauna, especially humans.

You know what's funny? Tyrannosaurs changed drastically in body shape and proportions as they grew. When young, they are lithe, long-legged and fast, perfect for running after smaller prey. Wonder what happens if a mom decides to enlist her children to chase prey down...

The worshippers and squires of the hunter didn’t have century bracelets on, I guess the cultures of the antediluvian world hold people with century bracelets with more higher guard. Those who don’t have bracelets have to prove themselves or find serve their elders.

Now that I’ve watched all the current DEAD gODS videos here are some thoughts I have about the lore: I love the detail that the g in the title is Lower case. I’ve seen it often at church where God is always referred to with a capital and the other “gods” of the Old Testament are referred to with a lowercase g. Also the gods he has shown so far like the hunter appear to be very alive, so I wonder if this story will be about the eventual death of those gods

Matt, you make this look so easy, but more importantly, you make it look FUN! The way you just execute an idea, then try another is really inspiring. Keep going! I do have one question though, how long do you think these take? You've mentioned noodling on these throughout the week but I know ideation and design is very brain intensive stuff. Just curious how long you spend on an idea in real world minutes.

"my favorites are the ones that look like overkill" Wait, didn't you say something similar about your ME3 art? That practical designs tended to look a little goofy? ...Yep. On Blogspot. "Concept Art - Behind the Scenes", July 23, 2013 "When designing the Cerberus troops, there were a lot of requests for thickness. I tend to go thin by default (a handicap I have to constantly work to counteract). What I wanted to maintain was a slight “goofiness” to their appearance. I think that if you try to design something to be cool, it will fail. The best designs (especially designs for characters that are meant to be scary or intimidating) are ones that maintain a percentage of goofiness. Real world designs typically have this element because engineers and designers are concerned with function first. This tends to create unintentionally funny forms."
