Hi guys. The new wide angle is great. I totally agree with you that the artistry of the chair and the other decorations are beautiful and people no longer do that kind of work. Imagine how long it took just to sand it to that smoothness. Today it would probably take a few hours with an electric sander. I love old things and the artists who put so much effort into them, just look at the blue flowers. That takes skill. 😊

I love old churches! It is beautiful but I hope they can take better care of it. These places should be protected. I love the sound of an organ ina church because ofthe way it echoes. The new camera is wonderful. Matt when I think about the places you go to explore is not easy to get to but you and Josh continue to march on and bring us on an adventure every time and love how you laugh and enjoy what you do 😊but also respecting the church for what it is. Thank you both.

Hi Matt & Josh..yeah there's not much real craftsmanship for the last few decades.. with everything people have gone for cheaper ways to make things like mdf etc, production line stuff and a few screws and hammers, flat pack when ya have to DIY.. I love the old furniture. Wtf is that loud thing you're using? Nearly turned you off lol.. it's a beautiful little church, I've never seen pews without full backs in them before. Loved this video (except for the loud thing ) been great to see, thank you ❤xx

At timestamp: 26:13, and again at 26:45 something flies across the screen. As it is early spring, it couldn't be a bug. Or was it? And again at 30:10, and 30:35 directly in front of Matt's camera. And a fairly bright one, left side of screen, at 31:25,.and 31:38. And one closer to center screen at 31:51, 32:04, and 32:30. On the left at 32:55. Bottom of screen, heading left at 33:56. And at 34:01 right up Josh's left arm. 34:24 while Matt is calling out to the back of the Church. And right in front of you, center, at 34:34. From right to left at 35:08 while Matt is asking why they want you to leave. 36:22 top right of screen. 36:44 center of arch. 36:46 left of arch. 37:02 right side, over chairs. 38:17 to the left, right in front of Matt. 38:33 on left. 39:17 from bottom left, right across Josh's face. 3 at 39:46. And 2 more at 39:49. 40:29 left side Church wall. 43:14 hard right of screen. 45:36 right and left. 45:41 on right. 3 at 46:13 center, flying towards you guys. Center top at 46:15. There were no more after that last one. However, I would like to add, the orbs, to me, seemed to be actively engaged with/based on the conversation. I highly recommend you watch this again, you'll be shocked at how much activity was actually happening. Some of the orbs were lightening quick. 😊 Great investigation guys! 😊😊

Noticing a lot of Tudor Roses being used for decoration in the church….when King Edward V11. Married, 15:59 he adopted the red rose of Lancashire and the white rose of York conjoining the two roses together to symbolise the English Monarchy, and it also became the Heraldic Emblem during William and Queen Mary’s Rein. When you first entered the church there were Tudor rose patterns on the handle and hinges, and also the top of the Font is shaped and made to look like a Tudor Rose pattern again. So if you keep Your eyes open you will see them used all over the church as decoration.🙋♀️

Well said Matt! Trades are sorely lacking, woodworking, metal works, concrete, name it. A person can hardly find repair workers much less skilled creators. I think the reason in part stems from kids watching their parents toil for very long hours and when they go to school, are pushed to get "a higher education" so they can have an easier life. Sad fact is, half the graduates often have a seriously hard time getting decent paying jobs and end up using manual labor in jobs they "hate" just to get by. We NEED to DO what we LOVE so its never a 'job' and teach our kids (or borrow someone else's... Yes, please ask first LOL) and Teach them its OK to use their hands to create a work of art someone can sit in

I think @7:01 it might be a really early holy water basin? If it's at the front of the church it will be, but it's not the church would not be a 100% original building.. Because the holy water basin is all ways at the front of every church unless it's been rebuild with old original still in usage
@helencheadle528511 ай бұрын
Matt, the bowl in the wall is called a Piscine….after a baby had been babtised the waste .water was poured down the piscine so the waste holy water went to the base of the churches foundations and not into the Devils hands who would have liked the get the holy water that had just babtised a new baby.

That “well” is a holy water stoop.
@amberparihus502311 ай бұрын
Matt.. what’s happened with the details and Hand made things is “cost” . Unfortunately people can’t or don’t want to pay what it would cost for original work. It is unfortunate but people put many hours and heart into work and people won’t pay for that! 😢

Why do you use that loud thing to try and communicate? All I can hear is the damn noise from the device. I am talking about what you are using at 25:30. I hate those things. Best way to communicate is to put headphones on one of you and a blindfold and the other ask questions and the one blindfolded hears through the headphones the answers.

This is what I found on Gargoyles: "Gargoyles are not demonic creatures. In fact, they have been used as protectors of churches and other religious buildings for centuries. Gargoyles are known for their unique and often grotesque appearance, but their purpose goes beyond just being decorative."
@hazelpegram732210 ай бұрын
Are those tapestry things used for kneeling on?Depends on the religion i suppose.
@Perspective12511 ай бұрын
I almost always enjoy your videos. So I hope you won't mind a little critique. Perhaps Josh could learn to point his bright light away from your camera lens, and exploring varieties of buildings other than churches would be great. Thanks. FYI, Gargoyles are Protectors. They are typically mounted in the front of or on the corners of buildings always facing outward, protecting that entrance and that building. (Not vampire stuff lol) It was kind of cool that it said "Don't antagonize", shortly after you two were mocking what it said about Gargoyle and Anybody. It also told you that it needed trust (instead of being mocked). I finally figured out what you've been saying all along when you say "jamean". You're saying "Do you know what I mean", right?
