You are re-assured by the demonetisation? What a strange thing to say. You need to find better ways of validating your views, than that they are suppressed by the YT censors. We already know that the totalitarian mob of woke censors are in the ascendant. The enemy has taken ground and hurt this KZbinr - that should not be re-assuring. It’s like saying “The fact that Operation Market Garden failed is re-assuring to me, because it validates the point that planning should take care to not go a bridge too far”. Yes, it does validate that point, but the cost of the operation far outweighs the benefit of the interpretation.

@@Truthorfib rpgs are effective weapons to bring down helicopters. Many choppers have been brought down by rpgs. Battle of Mogadishu, 2 Black Hawks were shot down by rpgs. Battle of Takur Ghar, the 1st time they went up, the Chinook was under attack and 1 ST6 operator fell off. After going back up there again, Chapman was accidentally left behind, a QRF in a Chinook sent to rescue him was shot by an rpg too, but made a controlled crash. Operation Red Wings, 4 Navy SEALs got outnumbered and outgunned by a larger taliban force, a reinforcement in a Chinook sent to rescue them, got shot down by an rpg as well. And now this extortion 17, the helicopter got shot down by an rpg too. So u see, rpgs are very effective weapons in bringing down helicopters. That's why it's always better to spec ops to be inserted by freefall (HALO, HAHO) rather than by helicopters in a hot zone. Unfortunately freefall is not often used as it should be.

Just a note. The RPG in expert hands can be very effective. They actually are effective upto 950 meters. The more modern updated RPG has an auto detonation after 950m of travel. In the last few years of the Afghan war this is what Taliban used for ambushing convoys. Since this could do an air burst after 950 meters you need not be accurate if you can correctly gauge 950m from your intended target and actually damage two or more vehicles at one go. You send that shot between two different vehicles and voila you damage both to some degree. If shrapnel does not damage the air burst Shockwave definitely will. So bringing down that heli was quite easy. All they had to do was shoot near the heli from 950 m. As per video the RPG burst in air instead of actually hitting the body. This is evidence that this was likely the updated RPG 7.

Some people say that Obama is to blame for this because he banned the use of suppressive fire while landing, in order to avoid killing locals - you know, harking back to the old hearts and minds routine from the Vietnam War. I'm not military, ok? But if you say this RPG could have been fired from upto 900m away, then suppressive fire would probably not have reached that far. On the other hand, wasn't the terrain constrained such that a Taliban 900m away wouldn't have had sight of the Chinook? So many questions. It doesn't seem to me that the full scale of the political and strategic decisions that went into the making of this tragedy, have been properly addressed.

Sad to see the rumors that came from this mission that came up recently about them being killed by the government to hid the bin laden death. The team that got UBL were operators from SEAL Team 6 Red squadron the Team that died in this crash were operators from Gold Squadron
@brotherwah56303 жыл бұрын
And the Air Force guys on the bird were from the same unit as the Air Force guys on the UBL raid (it’s an incredibly small unit). Also, guys switch squadrons. And the pilots of this bird were 160th SOAR guys who also flew the birds on the UBL raid. My point being, all of the community’s listed above are incredibly small. Tier 1 dudes see the bigger picture.

I have riden in these helicopters and they are not what was typically used for special forces. I served in the Navy as a Corpsman and the video is good but gets some things wrong. You do use multiple vehicles to provide multiple targets, this also causes confusion and disorientation for those trying to shoot at them. There is still a lot we do not know about this incident.

As far as I know, RPG's don't have proximity warheads which this scenario would seem to have required.
@brucemcelroy31863 жыл бұрын
elaborate please
@olplainface12992 жыл бұрын
The warhead on an rpg must strike a hard object before detonating where as proximity warheads would explode near a target without striking an object.
@arthurjenkins97572 жыл бұрын
@@olplainface1299 some rounds auto detonate after a certain range. Such as tank rounds. Rockets. Launched grenades and missiles. Updated rpg rounds definitely blow up at about 950 meters

You know what the sad thing is. There were several SEALs on there that were involved in the Osama Bin Laden raid kind of makes you wonder what happened when there is a selected group in the mix with some random soldiers.
@rickhunter74432 жыл бұрын
Listen bro. Firstly, Seal Team 6 is freaking large, there is almost 2000 guys on there, it is divided up in 6 squadrons. There's Blue Squadron, Silver Squadron, Grey Squadron, Black Squadron, Red Squadron and Gold Squadron. Red, Blue, Grey and Gold are for assualt, Black and Silver are for intel and diving/boats, respectively. Red squadron did the Bin Laden raid, and Extortion 17 happened to gold squadron, dont believe me? Look at pictures of Robert O' Neill in combat gear, what color patch is he wearing? Now research extortion 17 and you'll see a pic of them holding a flag, what is the color of the insignia on that flag???

This wrong. It was a inside Job. They knew the Rangers were coming. They knew the QRF (quick reaction force) would fly in to help the Rangers. Wasn't a lucky shot. They knew exactly where they would land and fired multiple RPG's at it. So you know where this is coming from I was in special forces for 22 years.
