Situated in the extreme north-west of Afghanistan, the Wakhan corridor is bordered by the Hindou Kouch mountains and peaks at almost 5000 metres high. The only road that cuts through the corridor is almost inaccessible, crossing the mountainside, often buried by metres of snow.

Well, if you listen to what some of the people say in the documentary, they aren't happy at all with their tough life. I'm sure a lot of them would love to have a paved road that would allow for supply trucks to come in more frequently at the very least.

Great video with outstanding photography. Despite the hard way of life, these people appear to be very hospitable, hard working and willing to help each other. The road needs to be improved to provide much needed access of goods and medication. This is a kind of place that I would love to visit - the scenery and the people. If only if there was peace in Afghanistan!

I worked in Afghanistan for 5 years (Khost province 2008-2012). I enjoy these documentaries as I feel a little nostalgic and have a place in my heart for Afghanistan and the people/culture. There is a lot of good I can say about the Afghan people. I wish some of my countrymen could take some lessons from the Afghans in regards to many of their character strengths, but most of all their appreciation and contentedness for the simple things in life.

I'm only 14mins in, and love the video, I have immediately picked up on few subtle scenes which really moved me.. and gave me more appreciation and respect for the Afghanistan and its people. But the most moving part 6:29 was where you see the ultimate opposites of the universe in one frame: Desolate, cold, strikingly beautiful yet dead and uninviting backdrops, dangerous and violent environment for sure... against the innocent, undisturbed, happy and red faced, healthy and most importantly - laughing groups of children, playing in this hell as if it didn't exist. Look at the face of that girl, she is happy and healthy, what more can you ask of God or whoever to give you in life, other than that. You can almost hear the mountains muted screaming in anger, cause they cant make kids fear anything in their clueless childhood wanders.. yet they carry bags of flour, and they show family respect saying how they're happy cause thy're with the parents... imagine that. Imagine a kid in the west saying that.. they'd give him addarol and xenyx and on the short bus for sure. Second was how the old guy as tough as he is, shows a warm heart by extending credit, keeping tabs, but then - and this is hats off man respect- then he notes that credit was not necessary before, now it is, but that all those on the list are honorable men, showing the utmost respect and understanding for them.. and then he says they will pay him back, if in 10 years than fine, but they will.. wow. He knows he might be dead by then, so he pbbly does not even expect the money back.. but he also knows trat doing a good deed like that, well, it can only help once he's gone, being generrous can only help in the afterlife, still he helps not out of interest but simple and pure, human (not Godly mandated) honest desire to help.. by this is pure as pure can be and I bet the ones who owe him are doing all they can to pay him back and will return the favor somehow.. Last, loved the barter, I;'D LOVE SOME FUKIN CHEESE here taker the onions he got almost 20 kilos of killer cheese, you know how good that cheese is?? These guys simply do a few back forths and smile and go on their way, simple. They all basically live HAPPY, including kids, and even with Taliban and the wars, are actually happier in life than 90 % of us lost souls in the west... music saves me, though I';d go nuts.. or move over there to Afghanistan haha

I was lucky to have traveled for over 3 months to many places there, Herat ,Mazar-I- Sharif and the view of the Pamir range is breath taking. Although afghans are of many tribes but they all are tough and very friendly. Wonderful people. Sadly Russia and USA did a lot of damage there because they are only driven by greed and power.. Thank God they got rid of both of them.. let's hope the taliban also soon looses it's stronghold and Afghanistan can breathe again.. My prayers for all Afghans

These people are now under Taliban control and tried fleeing to neighboring countries but we're turned away the US done alot of damage but these people were free to live how they wanted but now there fear reprisal from the Taliban who practice a stricter form of Islam.

You're wrong Gipsi711. The USA was only trying to help the people from the Taliban. Unfortunately, often innocent people are hurt or killed. May God continue Blessing you folks.🤓🤓

A very interesting film. I wondered what the yaks ate during their long trek as I saw no pasture or hay?

Interesting/informative/entertaining. Excellent motion photography pictures. Enabling viewers to better understand what/whom the orator was describing. Looks to be a very unforgiving/hostile terrain to reside in. Interesting viewing the transportation of goods & travelers on Yaks. Special thanks to veteran truck 🚚 drivers. Sharing personal information/driving 🚗 experiences. Along with material drop off customers. Separating facts from fiction/making the documentary more authentic and possible. Not an occupation from the faint of hearted.

I really enjoy these deadly journeys but I assume they ran out of new videos, they are repeating the old ones!

These people seem very strong and honest. We in the west are weaklings compared to them.
