3:40 - (Amethyst crystal farm) "Not a very good system yet..." Well, do you know how automated amethyst farms generally work? There's flying machines that sweep through the area knocking out the crystals. If you wanted to gamify that, one game comes to mind: "Hole in the Wall", like on MCC. As the flying machine sweeps through, you have to jump around it to avoid getting knocked off the platform. Of course it'd be the same 2 or 3 flying machines each time but you might be able to find ways to mix it up a bit.

A flying machine crystal farm only needs two flying machines to work, but I imagine you could do it with 4 (one from each direction) pretty easily, just have to make sure each flying machine stops and turns around before it hits the other direction's flying machine, and with enough smartness, you could might even be able to make it so each time one of the flying machines goes off, only some (randomly selected) parts of it actually move, and then also if you did that right it would make the "game" part of it longer, as you would have to wait for enough parts of the flying machines to fire to actually harvest all the amethyst

I've got an idea for a minigame! Operation: Sheep Sheerer. You set up a ton of sheep throughout the cavern and put them in really tight spaces behind interactable blocks like fence gates, Chests, and buttons. The goals it to click precisely so that you sheer the sheep without touching the interactable block. if you do, awesome you got wool! If not you are punished. it could be a loud unpleasant sound operation's buzzer or it could be a dispenser with arrows. Maybe add a time limit to try and get all the sheep's wool in hoppers.

Last season, Iskall made a manual farm for the crystals by flooding the entire chamber so you can swim around and easily grab all the grown crystals instead of having to climb around. Worked out pretty well, at least enough for me to replicate that in my world

The problem with your obstacle course is that there will always be either left or center free on every row, as there is no posibility of 1 1 0 combination (or 1 1 1, but that's intended). It's always suboptimal to go right as you can just weave between left and center. There're two solutions: - either rework the logic, so all combinations (1 0 0, 1 1 0, 1 0 1, 0 0 1, 0 1 1, 0 1 0) are possible (I propose this, but I don't actually remember how to do this, especially with redstone, hope commenters help); - or make every other row mirrored (so 0 1 1 is impossible in them), which is imperfect, but easier and will play its role just fine. It's possible you already did second solution and I missed it.

Zedaph, you're on a roll with these game-ified projects, I absolutely loved the enchanter randomizer and I love this new dripstone game as well 😂❤ The only thing is, I'm thinking you might need to make it bigger if you're the sole seller - I know at least a few Hermits have been using the compressed block of dripstone in their builds. It has an interesting texture and makes for a good "gradient" in color schemes, and with it still being sort of new I know it's popular.

the concept is great, but i would try to make it so that is certain that 2 out of the 3 in each section are going to always pop up, that way is almost sure that some maneuvering needs to happen if you want to end up alive. also, at the end would actually make a safe place for the boat to reach instead of it being a "when you are there just leave the boat" thing. other than that this is actually an interesting minigame.

I always remember the distinction by the sounds of the words themselves: the "ct" sound in "stalactite" sounds crystalline and brittle, a bit like an icicle (and stalactites are basically just stone icicles), while the "gm" in "stalagmite" sounds heavy and strong, like the sort of domey mounds rising out of the floor which are stalagmites

zed it looks like there is one random state that your random obstacles can't be in and that is having 2 pop up on the left. you can fix this problem by having two 1 to 3 randomizers because the first one will guarantee one goes up and then the second one will either overlap the signal from the first one making that set only have one obstacle or it could activate a different one giving 2 obstacles. doing the statistics in my brain says that their is a slight bias toward 2 obstacles instead of 1 but I think that would make your game even more fun. again this is 100% easier said than done but I think if you tried, you could do it.

For how to remember the stalagmites/stalactites: When I toured a cave once, long ago, as a child, I was told by the tour guide: "The 'tites cling tight "And the 'mites just might!" (Might grow up tall enough to join the 'tites and make a column, that is.) As to how to remember which one has the C and which has the G... C is on the ceiling, G on the ground! It took me longer to figure that one out.

Interestingly, the longer the game goes without getting played, the harder it is. The dripstone takes less time to reach the ground/player the longer it is, meaning the player has less of a lead.

*@ZedaphPlays* The mini-game, you can have a *"rising edge detector"* (detects a signal CHANGE: 0 --> 1, plenty of build tutorials available) that triggers the obstacles to start generating, and a "falling edge detector" (detects: 1 --> 0) that triggers the sweeper machine. of used normally, this will give a slight delay based on boat speed between the obstacles & sweeper start, however it is possible to cheese it by staying on the pressure pads (probably feels like stepping on a movie landmine...).

for the amethyst crystal harvest, doc had an interesting approach last season... 3 flying machines that were basically moving walls in each of the x, y, and z directions but with holes for each of the amethyst seed blocks so they would shave all the shards off as they passed. Not a perfect 100% harvest but pretty reasonably thorough for the amount of time saved.

Yeah it's a pretty common design for amethyst farms. The tricky bit is that every geode has a different layout, so the farm has to be designed around the geode you've got.

Hey Zed, for the amethyst farm, you could create more pistons to harvest the buds like you have done to a smaller extent, then have an Allay or two to help you on the collection front! To game-ify it, you could create a game out of the noteblocks that they would be attracted to, or see if you could collect more amethyst than the Allays!

@ZedaphPlays For your amethyst geode farm: If you use sticky pistons with chains attached and a small pulse extension on the pistons, more of the shards will be knocked free to fall or float instead of being caught by the budding blocks. Alternatively, if you submerge it, the shards will float to the top and can be swept along with a moving water layer to a collection point. (Only if you want to fight the water-red stone battle or prefer to collect “by hand” for better results with looting)

Probsbly much more complicated, but since the random piston setup is the way it is, technically going left (so toward firdt or second that are linked) is always correct which reduces the zig and zags needed. Dinno how compact a true only pick 1or2 of the three randomizer would be tho. Nvm, what i get for commenting before finishing lol! My suggestion for the minigame is that the middle one is 50/50 and the outer ones are inked. Now, as the left ones are linked, the rightmost carpet can be ignored, as you'll always have a path through the two left ones. Otherwise amazing!

You should use a calibrated sculk sensor to detect when an enchantment happens so that it automatically resets, i just don't know which vibration it is and with what it shares.
