Here's some history about Channing Tatum as Gambit: originally, he was supposed to play him in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but wasn't able to due to contractual obligations to working on G.I. Joe - The Rise of Cobra. Fast forward a few years later, after X-Men: Days of Future Past came out and reset the timeline within the movie lore, it was announced at San Diego Comic Con 2015 that Tatum would play Gambit in a solo movie (that was the same year that Deadpool 1 was announced). The next few years, it had trouble getting going with finding a director to work on it. They were almost about to make the movie, but then Disney (which owns the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc) bought 20th Century Fox (which had the rights to X-Men, Fantastic Four, and other characters they had at the time) in 2019 so the project got scrapped along with other Marvel related projects Fox had in mind. All the rights those characters that Fox had reverted back to the main Marvel umbrella, so now they can use them in future projects. So, Tatum playing Gambit in this is a nod to all of this history.

Fun fact: it was all Hugh Jackman’s idea to return as wolverine after his retirement in Logan. He even called up Ryan Reynolds in his car on a possibility of returning as him in Deadpool 3. However Kevin Feige was against this idea at first because Logan gave Wolverine a great ending. That’s when they thought of keeping the Fox Wolverine Dead, but still bringing Jackman back this time as a Wolverine variant. But he also had to get permission from James Mangold, the guy who directed The Wolverine and Logan.
@memorex2022 ай бұрын
It was all Ryan Reynolds' idea, from beginning to end. Ryan talks in interviews about how he wanted his good friend Hugh in the Deadpool movies as Wolverine. Ryan begged Hugh to do it, but no. Just look at Deadpool 1 and 2 for the Hugh/Wolverine shoutouts. Then when Hugh announced he was retiring from making any more Wolverine movies, Ryan sent him a copy of Deadpool 1. Hugh says that when he saw that, he realized he had made a mistake to retire from Wolverine. And he called Ryan and said if he still wanted him, he was in. Feige let Ryan run with it, and only told him not to mention coke. So of course, there were many mentions of it in the movie. lol

The Blade joke in Deadpool came from the Blade remake being in production hell since approx 2018. It has since been put on hold indefinietly.
@alexbruce94992 ай бұрын
Blade doesn't break the 4th wall, so as far as he's aware he's the only Blade. Deadpool's look to the camera after Blade's line was acknowledging that there is in fact another Blade movie in production, but could also be a dig at that production struggling to be made.
@heyitsthatmoviedude16272 ай бұрын
@@alexbruce9499 the fact that you took the time to write this, shows you take what others say far too seriously and literally, or have far too much faith in a studio that you can't accept has butt-f***ed itself into oblivion with the attempt to pander to so many audiences all at once. Even with this single win of Deadpool 3, Marvel will unfortunately continue to sink itself into the abyss for many years to come. Blade (the pitiful PG-13 remake) will never get made, and explaining something that you could actually never know unless you can see inside Ryan's head, is pointless.

I saw this on the day of release and loved it so much 😂 "I have a black belt in 'Karen'" was such a good line 😂 so many good lines it's hard to pick a favourite. That is Deadpool for ya ❤

Deadpool and Wolverine survived because of their regenerative healing factors are reactive powers. Cassandra Nova didn't survive because her healing factor is an active power (meaning that she has to focus regenerating).

Wolverine is 5'3" or 161 cm in the comics. Fans were upset when the 6'2" Hugh Jackman was cast.

Kinda sad you didn't experience the movie in theaters as it's definitely a movie to experience in the biggest screen possible, with a full packed theater full of laughter (and how the heck did you manage to avoid all the spoilers up till now ?), but hey ! Glad to be able to catch your reaction.

About your surprise towards Deadpools "Comic accurate short king". Wolverine is 5'3 in the comics but the height here was just exaggerated for jokes 😂. Wolverine is short but insanely muscular

I think the story brings a lot of pleasure to seeing Ryan's Wade and Hugh's Wolverine so satisfying. From watching them on Fox, now I finally see them in the MCU. And remembering in the presence of Fox's cameos with Jennifer Garner, and making fun of Ben, Wesly being the Marvel god who started it, Channing who finally made his debut in Gambit and all accents. And Laura from Dafne once again feels the sensitive vibe of having given the memory of Hugh's last time as Logan on Fox. And wonderful and the best film, of establishing balance, of shots of agreement between variants, surprises, seriousness and it is great , quite wonderful.😍😍❤

If you slow playback to .25X @ 17:27 and watch closely…….. When his katana is coming out, and towards the camera, you can see the blade “clip” through his shoulder. Small VFX mistake that slipped by.

No youre not alone. Its unlikely for a Strange Variant to end dead up there. It could have also just been a Student of the Mystic Arts. If Strange was there his coat would have been there too.
