Great advice, not just for those with English as their second language. I sometimes have trouble communicating with intimidating, daunting, impatient people because I get flustered and lose my train of thought which leads to frustration from both sides of the conversation. Thanks for sharing these strategies.

Annemarie, I apologize for not thanking you sooner for this video. It helped me tons! Thank you so very much for making a video to help me deal with that situation. I followed your advice and used your strategies. The one that helped me the most was to communicate in writing. I had to quit because it turned out, my boss was that way with most people. I got tired of being steamrolled (new word for me) so I left. She tried to make me stay but it was affecting my self esteem so I left.

The situation I had is kind similar but different as well. I let myself hanging there couple days only talk as necessary and let others figured out what is going on themselves. And things turned into clear little by little. It's not because the boss wants be steamroller (they may not realized what you felt). Like Annemarie mentioned, open communication is great way to help everyone find eachones feeling. Good luck for your next journey!

I dealed with a difficult boss. My deling with him was to make sure that I was prepare to discuss the issue. If he ask me a question I put my answer in an E-Mail. That way I had a record of the issue and time to adress the problem that he was having. Thank you for your video I wish I had these when I was dealing with the difficult boss. I left the company because he was never was going to be satisfy. I lasted seven years and I should have left sooner.

Thanks Annemarie, during my community I listen your lessons. My boss doesn’t give me exact instructions. Unfortunately, she wants me to innovate the work and give her some brilliant ideas 💡(but guessing what she has already thought). After some failures, my strategy is to ask back some explanations after one or two days and follow the given instructions 😂
@suzannenehme70573 жыл бұрын
In the meeting, i can quickly through my notes and then share the end result. I’m living a similar case now, I’m trying my best to be calm, professional and less reactive…it is not that easy specially that sometimes the questions or comments raised by my boss are very provocative, i try to reply and then ask her “what do you think?” …the old school bosses like to have the final word rather than empowering the need, this is unfortunate…

Thank you Annemarie! Great! To be honest, I've never had a difficult boss ( I'm lucky ☺), but your tips could be easily applied when we are dealing with bossy people, either a colleague or a customer too. In my opinion, it's very useful to reframe what the person said or asked and wait for confirmation before going on. Have a nice Sunday🌞 Vania
