Dealerships are making less money than they used to even though sales ok. This is goes way deeper than greedy dealerships.
@mnn1265
@mnn1265 24 күн бұрын
@@m14lvr Dealerships only have themselves to blame for destroying their reputations and gouging customers. Car makers can get by with fleet sales so it's really the dealers that are in the biggest trouble. Dealers are making less because now they can't get away with dealer mark-ups and at this point consumers aren't willing to buy unless they get cars BELOW MSRP! It may go deeper but dealers are in their own self-induced trouble.

I have a 2010 JKUR Rubicon, 55k miles. In decent shape in my area it goes for $20k to $23k easy. Jeep Sport or Sahara models get lifted and look like the more valuable Rubicons. Sport $35k new/ Rubicon $55k new. I’m nervous about buying used Jeeps: rear main seal, front crank seal, electronics, user stupid abuse, user improper lift/ gear ratios, transmissions, lifters. I’m thankful my 2010 still runs flawlessly but I’m thinking of selling it and buying a full TRD Pro Tacoma, lift it and never look back. Oh yeah: Jeeps LEAK. Roof panels leaks are a pain.

Those old Toyotas are tanks. Friend of mine still has his 94' Camry that he drove through college while he was in grad school. 400k+ miles and he kept it just for fun. Sits in his garage and still runs when he wants to take it out. I think the only thing that eventually rusted out on it was the muffler.

I think what happened with the 4Runner was the buyer realized he way overbid for 107k miles at 24k and then decided to not complete the sale. He was probably thanking God the seller wouldn't move at 25k. I've seen similar 4Runners with less miles sell at dealerships for less than the bid that Buyer put in. He would have way overpaid. Should be sold at about 21k.

Auctions are a scam, the seller can aways back away from the sell! What’s the point of taking car to the auction. If that’s how it works then they should start with lowest price the seller will take and go from there !

When are we going to start seeing significant price drops though? I've been watching your channel and Car Edge for years and the "bubble" doesn't seem to ever burst. I've been shopping for a Ram 1500 since before the pandemic when it was about $38k and have basically waited them out for almost 5 years. So much that I've saved enough to basically buy it cash at the old price now. I want the truck, but I don't need it and I'm sure as hell not buying in for $60k.

Not heavy and in decent condition. I'd consider another one. The only SUV I'll look at because you don't see older SUVs on the road for a reason.

I just bought a 2000 Lincoln Town car with only 70,000 miles for only $3,000, elderly owned, a private seller with a clean title. If that was a dealer, they would probably charge around $8,000-$10,000+ for that same car. I just saw a 2002 mercury grand marquis at a dealership, trying to sell for $10,000 which is a lower valued car. That dealer was so desperate to sell it to me. He even said that he would pay the dock fee. I said to him, "nah" "good luck!"
