If you’re reading this and you’re freaking out about your nose, please don’t. I spent the first 3.5 months depressed about my nose, then I woke up one day and I loved it. So I came back here to tell you that it absolutely gets better. I’m 8 months post op and I couldn’t be happier. I know its hard but stop obsessing over it and just let it be, it’ll settle and be exactly what you want. I came back to write this because it’s exactly what I needed to read during the first couple of months after my surgery because the regret was eating me alive, but looking back now it was so worth it and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I never comment on youtube videos, but I felt I owed the nose community my experience since I came back to this video so many times. When I got my cast removed I was shocked and so I just thanked the Doctor and went home. I cried about it about an hour later and felt that like I looked like an avatar. It was fine from the sides, but so incredibly swollen at the front I was so scared that I ruined my face. I didn't have a bad nose begin with and had stressed to my doctor countless times how natural I wanted this to look, which only goes to show how I was on not having a big change. It's been about 4 weeks since my cast removal and I have to say I LOVE LOVE LOVE my nose now (so much). My only regret is not doing this sooner in life. I would say to not pay attention at all to your nose in the first 2-3 weeks. It will change SO much, and just be patient. At the end of the day, the doctors are the professionals and you just need to keep a good mind throughout the process.

@@onesahara Personally, I had 0 issues with the actual surgery! It’s scary just in that hospital setting and knowing you’re going to be under anesthesia, but the moment they put the anesthesia in you’re out and back awake before you know it! It goes so fast and you’ll have pain meds so you shouldn’t even have pain :) I didn’t have any pain, you just feel really uncomfortable for the week while you’re healing bc you can’t breathe through your nose at all (so you’ll be mouth breathing and your mouth will get really dry), and it’s going to be difficult to get more than an hour or two of sleep at a time (at least that was my experience). But you are going to be okay!!!!

Reason being is that I’m currently dealing w/ uneven nostrils which anyone who sees me won’t notice but I notice. This is totally normal In the process. Also, my tip is still swollen. Which again is totally normal. I mean it’s only been nearly months. I kinda obsessed the first couple of months after cast removal taking daily pics and I had to just remind myself I am mot going to heal same way as others. My doctor is so great and also tells me that dreaded word “Time” is your only friend w/ this journey. And he’s right. I stopped obsessing and constantly looking in the mirror. @@mateocarepeo Happy New Year!!!!! Hi sorry for late response. Holidays and all. I hope you’re loving the changes. Hang in there. It gets better! Im actually now starting to love my nose. I know I told you since we last spoke i only “liked it”. However, last couple of weeks “she” has been looking soooo good lol. Mornings are still rough. Super congested and swollen. But enough about me. Please update me about your nose. I know you’re still super swollen. Don’t forget that’s normal and you’re going to be gorge✨🥰

Swelling can take 6 months to a year but usually by month 6 80% of swelling has gone down, your nose continues to change for up to 2 years. its very common to feel the way you did, I am currently 1 day post op after my THIRD rhinoplasty! I never wanted my nose done, I loved my nose, it wasn't perfect for everyone but for me it was, and it was what I was used to and personally never had a problem with it, but I got into accident broke my nose badly and got it fixed and the surgeon completely changed my nose and I did not recognize my face and I was so depressed, I hated my nose and it took me 5 years to go and have.a second surgery, which was last year and It was a tiny improvement I still wasn't happy, it was still way too upturned, too short my bridge, dorsal was scooped out and.I ended up w/ a polly beak, so I gave my nose a third and final chance with a great surgeon its only one day post op but I saw pictures immediately after surgery and I was very happy with the results, after having not the best experiences in the past however, I am still a bit nervous but I already know the healing process and understand I have to be patient with it those is constantly changing from day to day after surgery. Your nose looks amazing btw, you look absolutely beautiful!! but I totally get how you were feeling its definitely a big shock at first.

This video really put my Mind at ease, I am also on day 9 post surgery, almost 3 days since the cast was removed and my profile looks cartoonish to me. I feel that I look like Cindy LooWhoo. My nose is so far upwards that I’m in disbelief because I choose a surgeon that specializes in natural appearing noses and I appear that I got a designer nose from turkey. I have had three anxiety attacks and the first one was right after cast removal when I got to my car. I pretty much ran out of the surgeons office in horror. My surgeon said nothing to comfort or reassure me and I’ve been loosing sleep over this the past three days cursing myself for being so ungrateful for my old nose that was flawed yet looked better than this. I’m beyond grateful to hear somebody else’s less than ideal experience because I thought to myself everybody has these “i love my nose” moment after cast removal and I had the opposite. I’ve been obsessed with looking in the mirror searching for a slight change and drop of my tip. I’m afraid of running into people and feel like I’m self isolating covid 2020 style right now. I’m probably over reacting but I’m more insecure now than ever. This video made me feel sooo much better and I’m just happy to hear details of somebody else nightmare turning into something very worthwhile! Thanks you so much

This is the first reassurance I've seen regarding swelling on the side of the bridge of the nose! Thank you for posting your experience. Everything else notes that the swelling of the tip takes a very long time to go away, but all other swelling should be gone quickly. During your healing your nose looked a lot like mine does now (at 1 month post-op), and it's such a relief to see your beautiful, symmetric nose now. I was feeling sooo dumb because all I initially wanted was a septoplasty to breathe better. When the doctor said that he'd like to remove a hump and lift the tip, I was thinking, "umm. I didn't even know that was a problem, but sure I guess." Now I can breathe, but my nose looks wide and asymmetric at the nasal bones because I don't have that hump projecting out to make my nose look thinner, plus the tip looks a bit piggy and uneven. I'll hope that my final result will be like yours and then have no regrets.

Kel E how are you feeling now? I just had this same surgery and am a month out. Still feeling very anxious and scared
@zayb904 жыл бұрын
@@Data_Girl_111 I feel pretty good about it now! very different than I felt after just one month. The unevenness of the tip 100% resolved, and the bridge actually does seem a bit thinner now. (Or at least it doesn't bother me as much as it did the few months after surgery. & When it does, I remind myself that I told the doctor that I didn't want to sacrifice structural integrity for cuteness.) Occasionally I wish that I had not had the small hump shaved or at least that I had had the nasal bones shaved to be narrower as well, and I also sometimes think that I should not have had the tip lifted (which increased the apparent length of the philtrum, aka line between the nose and lips). Because noses droop with age and yet philtrums lengthen with age, it's hard to tell if the tip lift made me look older or younger or neither. Anyway, I can breathe way better and I think I overall look better, too. We're our own worst critics - the thing that bothered me perhaps the most was that one side of the bridge seemed wider/closer to my eye than the other, but no one else claimed to be able to see this. Everyone's faces, natural or not, are a little asymmetric. Best not to think about it much since the healing process is very long and improvements will occur subtly over the months or even years yet to come.
@Data_Girl_1114 жыл бұрын
Kel E thanks for replying! That’s all good to hear. I’m having issues right now with swelling being worse on one side, and making that side seem shorter than the other, or more stubby. I’m hoping this goes away as the tip swelling goes down, but it’s scary to see right now! You’re definitely right that everyone’s faces are not completely symmetric though. I hope I feel happy in the end, and can accept the things I may not be completely happy with as it seems you have! I’m sure you look great.

I just wanted to thank you so much for this video. I had my rhinoplasty exactly a month ago and ive been going through post op blues just as you did. This video, unlike a lot of other rhinoplasty videos, really helped me realize that I was not the only one and that this is very normal. The only thing is that i can’t stop obsessing over my nose and looking at it in front of the mirror picking out every detail. I feel 10x more paranoid than i was pre op. I sometimes also feel scared to laugh or express a lot of facial expressions because i dont wouldnt wanna ruin the final results and this has turned into an obsession i cant escape😫 do you have any advice about how to stop being paranoid or how you dealt with this?! Love your nose and your vids💓

Fatima Rana I’m coming in on one month now. Im SO happy with it. There are some qualities about it that are not the best but I know it has a long way to go. I love it way more than my old nose and it’s TRULY coming down beautifully. Patience is key. You really won’t be able to tell until like 8 or 9 months and then 1 year is when it’s done healing so...just live ya life up and don’t think about your nose. Easier said than done, I know, but it will heal much faster if you distract yourself
