Dealing with Resentment by Fr John Doe is an old AA speaker tape converted to digital format for me by another AA member. In this tape, Fr John Doe explains how to start cutting down the number of resentments we acquire and as a result, cut down the number of resentments we carry around.
Fr John Doe explains that resentment is re-feeling old hurts and how he deals with these resentments when they materialise. Just like in a previous CD called Restore Us To Sanity (Link below), he offers certain techniques or gimmicks as he calls them to deal with these resentments as they come up.

Something wrong here with the attitude of "let the other guy get mad." That's kind of an in your face throwback to the ones who would offend us. Nothing good results from us getting the other person mad.

He's not saying to make the other person mad. He said that they're already mad because they're talking shit. Let them be mad enough to talk shit. Leave me out of it. That's what we mean when we say "your opinion of me is none of my business."

If you listen to what he says after, he said, "Let the other person get mad is that that person must be unhappy to be talking about someone else." In turn, if you don't respond or get upset, it's going to upset that person because their intent is to upset you. If it doesn't work, they will get upset. I mean, it's basic human nature. When you're miserable, you want others to be miserable.
