It's been a pleasure watching the layout evolve over the years, these Q&A videos are a great addition - it's no surprise that you were invited to Warley. Happy Christmas when it comes and all the best for modelling in the coming year, I'm sure it'll be a great one!

These Q&A videos are a good idea to avoid being swamped with answering individuals which, inevitably, would lead to less videos! Nice to put a face to the name in your interview/conversation with Richard from New Junction. No, honestly, it is, I'm not taking the mickey ! ;-)

watch you with new junction great video was good to put a face to the voice that i have followed for some years now when i started back to the hobby i came across you and dave Howorth and of course lakeside and is mainly down to your channels that has inspired my layout so you could say you helped create Layton junction, not on your level of course but a brave effort 'still watch with great interest and learn new stuff all the time so many thanks to you and all the other channels who help people like me get started 😃👍👍👍🎅 all the best al

Hi, I have watched some of your videos, the 47001 with sound video sounded good! I have that loco too, and got it re-blown for £15 from Legomanbiffo and upgraded the speaker to a twin iPhone speaker.….made all the difference. Cheers. Dave

Hi Mate, Mike here form Appleby Linc's, just caught your chat with new junction at the NEC show Nice to put a face to the voice, I listened to your advice & I have spent the last year coming up with my plans & lay out, Its still up in the air at the moment but I hope to make a start on it in the new year & will my own channel to show you what I have learnt from Everard junction, new junction & yourself.The two things I would like to ask is, Were did you get your static caravans from & how much were they please?.
@DeanPark6 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for your kind comment. They are a Bachmann Scenecraft item. No longer in the Bachmann catalogue...however Bachmann rotate their products so they will come back at some point. I got these on ebay….quite rare. Look to spend £20-30 on one! Cheers. Dave

Hi Dave Since you've been getting questions about static grass and foliage, perhaps you should create a playlist with that theme in mind?

Good info video Dave. Following on from the track cleaning question. What or how do you do/use to keep the actual whole layout clean,dusting etc.
@DeanPark6 жыл бұрын
Hi, very carefully! lol.I use a dyson vacuum with the brush attachment to hoover the tracks, roads, hard surfaces, platforms etc. As for the scenic stuff...I hover the vaccum attachment of the grass to draw up some of the dust. However the dust doesn't show as much on the grasses and bushes etc. I also wipe the structures, ie station roof etc with a soft micro fibre cloth to collect any general dust.Dust created by working on the layout, ie carving foam etc to make the landscape. I try to cover up the surrounding area with see-thru plastic dust sheets (from b&q etc). This stops the dust, fibres etc getting into the scenic material and tracks etc.I always have a vacuum handy when doing messy scenic stuff.....do a little work, stop and vacuum, then some more work....etc. Hope this helps? Cheers. Dave

Hi Dave. What size is the layout?. Did you start small and then expand?. My problem as with a lot of rail modellers is space!.
@DeanPark6 жыл бұрын
Hi, its 25ft by 11ft. (excluding the storage yard at the end, that adds amother 3ft to that length. I started with that size. I am very lucky to have a long loft. Cheers. Dave

Without going through the history but I think you've been building since Christmas 2012 ? It's without doubt the neatest layouts on KZbin

Yeah I do enjoy keeping things tidy and neat lol. Cheers. Dave

Dave - following on from your session with Richard the other day (at Warley), I suggest setting up a Patreon account rather than going down the KZbin Premier route. I sponsor several KZbinrs via Patreon on a monthly basis and I personally dislike the streaming side of KZbin where you get quite a few trolls and spammers in the chat sidebar who are just looking for attention. You also get lots of tangential discussions going on that have no relevance to the content - I realise I can hide all of this, but it can be interesting to see the presenter responding to some stuff that is on topic. Anyway, just my twopennethworth, so to speak.
