@@Missbusybee2010 It's a big achievement to have him on Dear Future Wifey, regardless of whether he was paid or not. Gary Chapman does not go on just any podcast, especially given his age and profile. His team will not sign him up for just any opportunity, even if the producers are willing to pay top dollar. The fact that his team chose this show is a testament to the great and reputable work that Laterras has been doing so consistently for years now. Let's learn to commend and congratulate people when they do well.

@alicetheegreet4 ай бұрын
1.Expressing regret. Expressing regret by simply saying "I'm sorry." Follow that by acknowledging what you did wrong/why you're sorry. 2. Accepting responsibility. While it is easier to say 'You are right' than 'I am wrong,' the latter carries more weight and is best. Put your ego aside, take responsibly for your actions and admit that not only you were wrong, why you were wrong. 3. Make restitution. Ask the person how you can make it right. This is especially so when the infraction involves the lost of something- whether it be time or something else of monetary value. 4. Genuinely repenting. Make specific plans to change and make things better. 5. Requesting forgiveness. Just saying you're sorry and going through the above process doesn't mean that you're forgiven. You have to ask for it. Some people are better than others at just forgiving you without you having to ask for it. But some are not. Others still need you to ask for it in order for them to forgive. So, ask. Things to note here are that, both your timing and delivery needs to be on point. Avoid the word BUT in your entire apology. In fact, I'd go even further and say AVOID the word BUT in ALL manners of speech, except for when you're intentionally using it. Saying but after you've said something, negates your previous statement. These don't need to go in any kind of order. Unlike the 5 love languages, I personally believe you should do all 5 to make the person you're apologizing to, whole. For example: I'm sorry I forgot to pack the kids' lunch this morning. How about I order their lunch and have it delivered to their school today. From now on, I pack the lunches the night before so that I don't have to scramble in the mornings. Would that be OK or do you have a better suggestion for how I should proceed? Please forgive me. Follow through with making the lunches.

You can't beat a dead horse. Sometimes the best thing you can do for both your mental health and for that relationship, is to let them go. I think Dr. Chapman touched on this in this episode. You shouldn't tolerate abuse, and if the person isn't where they need to be, sometimes you just have to release them to your higher power and let that be the resolution for you and your situation. @shannonwhite6591

I really enjoyed this episode...so many things I did NOT KNOW about men being told real men don't apologize 😮. To know thar GOD has been in the midst of how I raised my children, mainly my son about apologizing. I would never tell my children to apologize and would tell the other party why I didn't tell them to apologize. They could ONLY APOLOGIZE if they were sincere. I chose to raise my Sunshinesdifferentlyt from what I saw. So this episode showed that,YUP GOD WAS RAISING THEM while I still was in my trauma. But thank God for this episode. I wish more men could hear this.❤

The 5 steps in the process of an apology, which is what I'd call how one apologizes instead of apology languages, is something we learn at a very young age as children in my family/culture; and in just about every class I've taken on leadership. One thing we were taught at a very young age, is to carry on in a way so that you don't ever have to apologize. Meaning, be mindful of how you're carrying on so that you don't have to do anything to people that would warrant you apologizing. That being said though, some of us have interpreted that saying as we shouldn't apologize even when we're not right and we know we're not right. These types of conversations will really help a lot of people.

Another book I need to invest in. I haven't' heard of this one but I will certainly read it. Dr. Chapman gave so much key points in this interview. My children's father did not believe in apologizing. He said his dad told him not to apologize instead just don't do it again. The problem is that not only did it not make sense, but he would do the same thing again! SMH!! One thing I appreciated that Dr. Chapman said is that forgiveness does not erase the memory of what happened. This is often misunderstood as unforgiveness, so I really like that he addresses it. I have no problem apologizing when I'm wrong. I think it's one of the most freeing things you can do for yourself! A man who is not afraid to apologize is important to me! Great job again Laterras! Let me just start off by saying CONGRATULATIONS! Your interviews and interviewees are on another level, from an entirely different dimension. 👏🏾Exceptional! Do you hear me? Dr. Gary Chapman, man of God, every word that proceeds from your mouth is golden. Valuable. Like our Heavenly Father’s, it will not return void. I pray many are blessed by your teachings. You exude confidence, strength, and the very knowledge you requested in prayer. No lack, no shortage, no shortcomings, and certainly nothing wasted. May you see the manifestation of all your prayers. Thank you for introducing the website and encouraging viewers to take the quiz. I’m excited for my first attempt. I might need more. (lol) The biblical analogy of the parable in Luke 15, specifically verses 11-32 about the Prodigal Son, illustrates the nature of God's forgiveness and the joy found in repentance and reconciliation. Genius! I love when information, data, or facts are backed with biblical teachings and not necessarily used outside its original context. #scripture I was going to write out all five as I certainly took notes, but it just so happens @alicethegreet beat me to the punch, and what an EXCELLENT job she did. If you're seeking, the website is fivelovelanguages.com. Now, some of my favorite, possibly paraphrased phrases: forgiveness does not remove the consequence(s), we are NEVER better for doing wrong, forgiveness does not restore trust, and don’t make that decision by yourself. I can’t wait to get my hands on the book, "Things I Wish I Knew Before I Got Married." Hmmm..🤔 Laterras, if I’m being completely honest, I’m not simply fan-crushing, although, I know, I lay the compliments on thick, but, in short, your life’s mission blows my mind. I can’t wait to see the full evolution of Kingdom Royale. Definitely going to the website to check out the continual development of that. May God bless your hands so that everything you find yourself to do, you do it well. To your future wife, I hope she is as prepared as you are. Yolanda Adams' "I'm Gonna Be Ready," since you have visibly done the groundwork, laid the foundation, and the framework for the house is going up. #integralstructure May she get in, where she fits in, and make it HOME. What table? God has given you a buffet, smorgasbord, and so much more. #feast 🙏🏾Blessings BIG BIG L💞VE - 🌺InspirationByB, a branch and affiliate of ⚜️HairByB (Facebook Profiles: Brenda Brown-Rodrigues and Hair By B)

Someone had mentioned it and then I went and did some research; and I really feel like it brought some much needed closure to my life. I'd shared that experience then and so won't share it here again. For a very long time before last week, memories of that situation would pop up and I've always wondered what happened and now I know. I thought I'd help the next person who read that comment and put them out so that the next person can just see it and not have to search for it, and can spend that time on something else instead. Next time I'm in IG, I'll be sure to check out your pageand support you as much as I can. I'm looking forward to an update on Kingdom Royale too! 🙂

Forgiveness doesn't rebuild trust , but trust has to be restored. Forgiveness is definitely a choice and releases us from the prison we put ourselves in. But forgiveness is our freedom 🔑. Thank you...thank you... thank you... Real Life DFW Masterclasses👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽. These episodes with Dr Gary addressed some of the most important aspects of our lives as human beings and as Christians for those that believe in God. I love how the episodes touched on not just marriage and relationships but kids and how we can teach them to apologise and also how we can learn their love languages from last week. This was a much needed masterclass on apology, love, forgiveness not just to others but to self too.. loved it... Real life lessons ..stuff that people are struggling with and need help with and how helpful it is that after learning this when a friend or family or stranger asks us how to deal with a situation which relates to this we are better equipped somehow to direct them to resources that help and to share a little of what we have learnt here and it will make a difference I believe in their life and situation. Sometimes we advise wrongly and instead of helping we may aggravate a situation not because we want to but because we do not know better. Thank you Dr Gary. Thank you Sir Laterras. I learnt a lot. Forgive and release the pain and release that person to GOD. As a mom to our son I teach him the importance of apologizing.
