I'm so happy to see that you mentioned olive tones! I'm a cool olive, with medium-deep value and medium-soft chroma. I tend to gravitate towards deep winter while incorporating part of the soft summer palette, and sometimes deep autumn. The high value colors of deep winter make my features stand out, and the low chroma colors of soft winter make my features harmonious. If anyone is in a similar boat as me, definitely don't be afraid to play around! Seasonal colors are suggestions, not rules!

I feel similar, I was unable to pick a season for years, I'm Mediterranean and cool olive skin, with low contrast features even though I have black hair and I got clear summer after this video, which makes so much sense but I will still use darker winter colours because I can look good in them too, and my third and least important was Value. It's great to have an understanding of why and how to go outside of your main season. Also the accessories and makeup part was such a confirmation for me, I always hated how I look after professional makeup, they should really start reading about this stuff 😁

@carpediem88556 ай бұрын
Just to correct some misinformation in video. In the value section, light to deep value is referred simply as that: light and deep. It is rather contrast that is referred to as low to high, as well as chroma(also known as saturation) that is referred to as low to high and alternatively soft/muted to bright, with low corresponding with soft or muted, and high corresponding with bright. Adding white, black or grey to a colour changes more so the chroma of a colour than anything really. For example, an individual can still be a light value and have high chroma for instance springs. They have light colours but are saturated as seen in your sun picture in which you also ended up saying is ‘bright’. After all, we would say light and bright colours not low and high colours - that's just confusing.

I find it so hard to tease apart what looks good because I like the aesthetic VS what is objectively complimentary. Most of the time it seems easier to work out what looks bad on me than figuring out what looks good. Clear bright colours and very high contrast colours overwhelm me. While light colours and pastels wash me out. So I guess I'm mid to low chroma and med to deep value. While hue doesn't seem to matter as much. My best guess is I sit somewhere between deep autumn and deep winter but leaning slightly more to autumn due to it being lower chroma and more soft than winter.
@AngryTheatreMaker7 ай бұрын
Dark Autumn here, borrowing a little from Dark Winter. Great deep dive! I was, however, somewhat perplexed re fabric, textures, prints, and accessories. I'm glad they were included! But most of the sources I've looked at assign the "low chroma" choices to Summer and sometimes to Spring. Autumn and Winter, from what I saw, are typically advised against too delicate and dainty a look. If I had to guess I would say this is because both palettes read as more opulent and thus need more visual heft to emphasize their inherent power. Take accessories as an example. Spring is right at home in youthful and refreshing styles; Summer is better suited to soft feminine pieces. Autumn is often recommended dramatic and slightly out of the norm pieces in that season's metals. Winter, meantime, is regal and dramatic with nothing cutesy or youthful about it. Personally I think it comes down to the individual and their type or essence. I've seen Winters who favor a more classic style and Summers who skewed more romantic--and vice versa! A matter of eye, a matter of training one's eye to one's taste. One thing older texts mention but most recent writings don't is scent as a player in creating a "seasonal persona" (if that is the right term). Examples: Bright youthful scents for Spring, something delicate yet lush for Summer, more mature and compelling scents for Autumn, nonfloral scents of great distinction for Winter. I for one would watch a video about this. Sorry for the mini-essay. Again, great deep dive!

Dark Autumn is opulent due to Winter’s influence, but Summer is the most muted season, followed by Autumn. The Concept Wardrobe has excellent educational content, as well as the Chrysalis Colour series called “The Right Polish for [Winter] Skin”.
@AngryTheatreMaker6 ай бұрын
@@strawberryinsomnia9188 I'm familiar with the Concept Wardrobe; Chrysalis Colour not so much. As far as the "muted" description, I do think that fits Autumn, but only up to a point. One older source I've read has described the overall Autumn palette as somber-rich and brushed with bronze, whereas (to this same author's view) Summer is emphatically muted with a rose or lavender wash. Looking at palettes this way has been somewhat of a game-changer to say the least.

@SaharNawaz6 ай бұрын
I think you're confused with the purpose of this video, you just proved her point by saying you love silk and velvet, even if you don't own any for practicality reasons, the fact you're still drawn to it is an important factor to determining your chroma. You could say the same for makeup, what if that melts off too so you don't bother wearing it? Or certain jewelry pieces you'd love to have but can't afford? Doesn't mean you wouldn't want to still wear those things. Also those materials can be used for bags, shoes, hair accessories even jewelry. A purse made of patent leather vs canvas tote are also wardrobe pieces and which material you like better is important.

This is by far the best explanation video I've seen so far. I've been on this journey for over a year now and only after watching this video I actually understand now that the tertiary feature is the least important feature. I came to the conclusion that I am a Soft Seasonal Colour a few months ago. First thinking that I'm a Soft Summer and then Soft Autumn. But somehow both of them didn't fit quite right. I also discovered that there is also a thing called olive (and I referred to myself as an "olive" when I get tanned my whole life - people have actually laughed at me for that). Which makes sense for me because I'm primarily soft but some richer colours also suit me. But I've been confused about the hue. When I thought I was a Soft Summer I reached for cooler colours but that didn't look quite right so then I went on to select some warmer colours which also didn't look quite right. When I went shopping just recently I tried on a shirt which is in between light pistachio green and mint blue (so neither warm nor cool) and I LOVED it. I thought to myself that's going to be the only colour I ever buy. So again I looked for some sources to help me determine which Seasonal Colour I am. And today I stumbled upon your video. Which is truely a godsend for me. I did your test and it came out as more low for Chroma and a bit more high in Value and 3/3 for Hue. After watching your video I understand now that I don't need to look for warmer OR cooler colours. I need to look for colours which are primarly soft, a bit lighter and neither cool nor warm. I don't need to be typed as a Seasonal Colour although I can look at some recommendations for Soft Summer AND Soft Autumn just to give me an idea what I'm exactly looking for. Thank you SO MUCH for making this very very very helpful video!!

Is it just me, or is chroma *really* similar to the concept of visual weight? Because as someone who's been struggling with finding my colours for months (if not years)... IT FINALLY MAKES SENSE!!! I started to think of visual weight more like "gravity" of facial features... and then when I realized that chroma is just contrast between those features (or the lack thereof, for me), everything suddenly fell into place. Without much contrast, the "gravity" is equal all around! I have low chroma for sure, and likely a low visual weight too. This places me right between Soft Autumn and Soft Summer: slightly cool-toned in terms of my features, and slightly warm-toned in my style. And just like that, this also fixed my main problem that I've had all these years... not knowing if I'm warm or cool toned. Everyone said my skin was "definitely cool", but I always thought that warm colours suited me better. Now I know that it's perfectly fine for me to be in the middle, even with my cool undertones! My hair and eyes are warm, so as long as it's soft, everything balances out. I have so many options now!!! 💖 I let this play in the background while I was cleaning my room, and came back to check my results after. Honestly, 10/10 method for watching long-form videos like these. The fact that these videos exist for free is absolutely mind-boggling. The idea of this being a spectrum is what finally cleared everything up for me, thank you so much Peachie! I never felt like I really fit any season, and I still think I sorta don’t in a traditional sense so much as that I hover ABOVE a subseason; so much closer to the true middle because my three colour features are all quite moderate/neutral. So since I’m slightly cool, slightly dark, and slightly muted, with muted barely being my main aspect but far too moderate to fit soft summer without looking a little washed out (but still tolerating it better than super bright colours,) I can instead hover in the area above soft summer/autumn in the inner part of the circle! Almost as if a second ring is inside the first one (and maybe it’s already a thing in other versions than the 12-season system??? something to look into later) that hovers just above soft autumn and summer. Basically I can focus on the more moderately soft colours from soft summer as my main season, and borrow from the less extremely soft colours from soft autumn and the least warm/cool colours from true summer and autumn pallets. It’s not as simple and clean-cut for me to fit my season as I’d like, but at least I can visualize and work with it now!

I always thought i couldn’t be a deep winter with hazel-green eyes, but after watching this video, I understand that I can! And it’s because deep winter is next to deep autumn, and my hazel-green eyes are more saturated than bright/light. ❤

Loved how in-depth this was and felt this was the most accurate descriptions of seasons. Went in thinking I was a winter came out a spring!

That was so helpful! Never have I see something about seasonal colors to be this detailed! Never have I heard about the olive undertone being cool or warm. Now it all makes sense! I have a grayish/greenish undertone and look really bad in warm hair colors and warm at all. Makes sense since I'm a cool olive - not a warm one! Thanks for explaining all that! So helpful! ❤

38:10 OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS TT i can't express just how much these "four seasons" theme annoyed me because the only difference i see during the year is "hot with rain > less hot > hot without rain", i hated how this is all about "colors we associate with every season" but i can't associate colors with any season because they are all pretty much the same here! we girls from the south hemisphere are very much happy with this

Finally! 😭🙌🏻 Now i know what my seasonal colour is. I always feel indecisive between summer and autumn. Also this test i trust the process. I did all the tests here, and it shows im Warm Hue, Med Value and Low Chroma. I didnt cheat and skipped to the end result, I got Soft Autumn!!! The colour between summer and autumn😭🤌🏻 finally!!

I love this vid so much. most vids i see have white people as their target, so i would always be told i was dark winter or deep autumn just cause i had black eyes and black hair, even though dark colors always looked off on me. im so happy i finally know im a true summer, these colours definitely fit me more, thank you!!

True Summer here with a secondary True Winter 😍 no wonder I’ve gravitated to generally blue and cool toned clothes whether light or dark. So long as it’s not muted, because muted colours make me look so tired

Cool Low Value High Chroma I have always thought that I was a warm tone. But Ive always geared towards cool colors and high contrasts. And that’s why orange doesn’t suit me at all😭 Thanks Dear Peachie❤

Excellent video 🙆🏻♀️ Thank you Dear Peachie 🍑 I'm so glad that I'm able to watch your video where there is no place for colour analysis in my area. My colour analysis came out 'True spring' 🌸🌷🌺🌻🌼🌹 and coincidentally I use to like those colours and whenever I have the chance to choose I usually pick those colours for myself, but unfortunately my mother brought me most clothes of either black or deep blue colours☹️. I need to change my wardrobe. Without this video I would have no idea which is truly the right match for me. Again thank you so much. 💗💗💗

thank you so much for this! I tried to figure out my season a long time ago but most resources online tend to say "if you have dark hair and dark eyes, then you must be an autumn or winter" so i'm very glad you prove otherwise as autumn and winter colors look HORRIBLE on me lol!!

OMG🥰, I was so confuse at first, I knew before that I was Soft Autumn, and then it was explaning more in details about high and low value and about the color analysis🤭🤭, it was so nice to watch the video, I´m a soft autumn acording to the video. I feel like you naturally know in some cases what looks the best on you. 😍😍
