Idea: unlike sans, who is stuck in his fandom his-characterization, papyrus is PERFECTLY in character, the problem is everyone else, who treats him like he's his fandom self. I like to think Papyrus still keeps his ‘Ends the fight at 1 HP mechanic’ here. Though it’d only apply to the last character standing cause otherwise I’m pretty sure it’d make the fight too easy otherwise. Maybe at 1 HP, Papyrus gets mad and claims you failed the puzzle, and kicks the group out out. Or I guess a more interesting take is that he gets excited, and says he’ll capture you to put on the play later. With the screen fading and returning back to the group waking behind the stage with a box of costumes next to them, as well as the exit door (if they don’t want to do the fight anymore), and the door leading back to Papyrus.

I know I said this in another comment but Papyrus uses blue attacks and makes your soul blue to give it gravity Jescroll uses blue amd orange attacks so maybe he can make your soul blue or orange and an orange soul is reverse gravity so it's like blue but you fall up?
