Meh , I bought the 14 pro max , for me that has been a fantastic phone, and probably very similar to the 13 series . I was in a car accident recently out in the country, I had my one year old Android phone and my 2 year old 14 pro max as well , after coming to a stop and getting out of the car and looking around I hopped back in the car to turn the engine off, I could hear someone talking, I found my iPhone on the floor as it was thrown around with impact , my iPhone had detected the impact and rang emergency services , they told me the phone alerted to an impact and alerted them and asked if i needed assistance, to which I replied I was ok and did not need any thank you , they took my name for records and hung up , a minute later , I got a text from a family member asking if I was ok , my 14 also sent a message to say it detected an impact and there was no response, again to which I replied the car was bit second hand but I was fine . My newer Android phone detected an impact and left a button on the screen in case I wanted to call emergency services. This cemented my appreciation for how good iPhones are in general at getting the basics right. I think my iPhone also sent my location . If I was unconscious bleeding out , I know which phone I want with me , and which phone I’d like to see my kids with. Gimmicky crap in reality is not much value when it hits the fan .

I have had my iPhone 13 for almost 3 years now, I upgraded from an iPhone SE 2 to the 13, it was a huge jump. The SE 2 was a great phone, but the battery life wasn't there. I use my phone all day for GPS routing, and the 13 still lasts most of the day. I am just shy of 1,100 cycle counts on the original battery (Battery Health is at 81%). I picked the 13 over the 12 because the 13 got so many improvements to the battery, chip, and the standard 128gb sealed the deal for me. I didn't go with the mini because I was coming from a smaller phone and the non-mini fit better in my hand. I do wish sometimes that I went the Pro Route, mostly for the Sierra Blue Color if I'm being honest. The pro motion also future-proofs it, but that leaves some room for when I do eventually upgrade. I plan on replacing the original battery sometime this holiday season, but I hope I still have many more years with this phone. The entire 13 line up will go down as one of the strongest releases from Apple in recent history. Thank you for making a proper video send off for the 13, it deserves it.

Honestly, as a 12mini user who doesn't carry a charger around, I was always baffled about the battery life complaints. I've been using this phone since it launched. I wake up, go to college class for about 4 to 5 hours, using my phone leisurely. plug the phone in my car while driving to my part time job (15min drive), work 4 to 6 hours, drive home, charge it to 100%, set the alarm and drop it unplugged next to my bed. It never died on me. Maximum capacity is at 80% right now. Mind you, I do play 3D games on it everyday. How are people misusing this device to the extent they consider the battery life a "deal breaker" is beyond me. The average user shouldn't be having problems unless they're glued to the phone in a distracting and unhealthy way.

I was so impressed by the 13, the most recent iPhone upgrades, while being technically superior to the 13, doesn’t feel as astonishing as that jump to the 13 was. I’m just not impressed enough with the 14, 15, or 16 to switch over. Maybe if I was still on the 11… but honestly, the 13 feels like the gold standard for non Pro iPhones. I can’t even complain about the battery life. It’s currently on 82% and it still gets me through the day without a problem. I think I couldn’t have timed my upgrade from SE2 better. And on top of all that, I get compliments on how great my phone looks up to this day!!!

Just upgraded from my 13 PM and honestly it was a helluva phone. I only upgraded because AT&T was giving $1000 trade in for it. Couldn’t turn down that trade value for a 3yr old phone.

“Apple Intelligence” better be worth the upgrade for them literately making millions off of it. Ai isn’t even that great yet.. so I don’t see how Apple could make something amazing. We will just have to see what’s the hype about. I’m happy with my 13PM and will not upgrade any time soon

The 13 Pro Max is definitely the best iPhone release to date. Been using mine for roughly 3 years now and don’t see any need to upgrade yet.

The iPhone 13 is the best - I had the Pro but didn't like the big size, so after a few months I decided to get an iPhone 13 Mini and I still use it 3 years later. Best iPhone ever made - feels like an SE but larger and faster than an SE. I will probably wait for another 2 to 3 years before I get an other upgrade and the battery health is 90% and lasts almost all day I get about 5 and a half hours out of it but I only need to charge it once or twice during the day but it's the best phone ever !

I upgraded from an SE2 to a Blue 13 and it was a great experience. Battery life was amazing, the cameras improvements were very noticeable and I dare say its probably the best iPhone of its type. I gave it to my dad and hes enjoying it, and I got my mom a green 13 for her birthday and no complaints from her. I even have a 13 mini i use as my iPod and it's still going strong with 100% battery health, definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a great older phone

I’ve really enjoyed my 13 pro plus over the years. I was going to keep it a bit longer but I got a great deal to upgrade to the 16 pro max and a lesser bill. I know a lot of people are upset with the new iPhones bot being new enough, but honestly I’m glad because I still enjoy the older iPhone generations.

My wife is someone who doesn't upgrade her phones very often AT ALL, but when she dropped and broke her XS (which she bought in early 2020 coming from the original SE) in August 2023 I urged her to get the 13 or 13 Pro because I knew the 13 series was a solid generation even though it was almost 2 years old at the time. Well one year later it's been rocking along very well. No issues at all.

Watching on my 12 Pro Max, battery is not that good but not too bad atleast. Purchased in June 2021 by the original owner but I bought it used back in November of last year. The battery health is at 89% which isn’t too bad for a 3+ year old phone. If I do well in school, I may be getting the iPhone 17 when that comes out but it depends.

I’ve been daily driving a 13 since its launch having switched from the XR to it and it’s been the best phone I’ve owned. Before when I used Android I had to constantly buy new ones because they just didn’t work for me. Even the flagship Samsung crapped out on me and deleted all my stuff from a trip to DC that I’ll never recover. Didn’t have that issue with the iPhone 13. I would definitely continue to use it but I decided to switch to the 16 as no stores around me offer battery replacements and mine is starting to get worse. It’s been with me through hell and back and is still intact, but it’s time to rest has come.

Been so excited to watch the 2hr video! Just waiting until I know I have the time to focus on solely that but I appreciate your effort in doing long retrospectives like that. Definitely one of my favorite tech channels! Been trying to talk the wife into a 13 mini for probably over a year now. She is on the SE2 and doesn’t want to leave the home button interface but I didn’t either going from the 6s to the 11 Pro in 2019 and learned real fast it was a fantastic decision lol. Her battery life is horrible (health probably is only 76-80% range but the battery was garbage from day one) and she uses my 13 Pro occasionally for night mode shots so I know she would appreciate it. Truly is a shame they stopped doing the minis, I hope so much they bring them back one day for the small phone lovers like my wife (since we’ve been together she went from a 4s to the SE original and now SE2).

I went from an iPhone 12 Pro Max to an iPhone 13 mini. That 13 mini was truly a champ. It did everything I needed to do. And I never once missed having three cameras or a bigger screen. Although the battery life left something to be desired. This phone was great for me at the time since I wasn’t going anywhere and I was still in university from home. I upgraded the next year but Mandu I wish I had never sold my 13 mini.

13 pro max and the 120hz refresh makes it still feel current gen. My battery is still 91% battery health and can last a couple days if I need it. None of the new iPhones since have made me feel like my phone is garbage yet lol. I’ll probably upgrade when the camera gets 10x optical zoom since the chip upgrades are imperceivable in day to day use. The 13pro really upped the low light performance of the camera from earlier models and introduced macro mode which is still nice in 2024

So yeah. Got a 16 Pro Max and new 13 for $4. Pretty happy with that.

13 Mini user here! I still get everything done with mine and don’t need a reason to upgrade until apple doesn’t support the 13 line with updates anymore. By then I wish they have another mini phone in their lineup or I’ll have to re-think iphone as a whole.

I personally think apple should slow down on releasing their iPhones from every two to three years to five years. One, the phones last for a long time, and two there could be significant upgrades that actually add more value to the phone and make it stand out more… but alas, apple is a big corporation and they want your money.

This company just keeps reproducing the same phone every year. I don't even think most consumers would care if they changed to release every 2 years.

I never have any performance issues, the battery life is great (94% health), i don‘t miss 120hz even tho I‘m using a macbook having that. Still running the 13 mini, I wish they bring the mini back. With the new Camera control, the ergonomics make even more sense on the mini. Maybe make the camera control also TouchID and get rid of the FaceID. It seems the mini sold better than the 14 plus. I feel the timing of the iPhone SE 3, many people holding onto the 6 and 7 upgraded to the SE 3 and then wanted to wait a bit longer before upgrading. I feel Mini users are the type to upgrade 3-4 years instead of every year, but they are people that would rather hold onto a phone until it dies and wait, rather than upgrade. Especially now since there is nothing to upgrade to, they may go to a small Android phone instead.

I've had my 13 for a few years now and I have yet to see anything in newer models to get me to upgrade. Apple is gonna have to drop support for it if they want me to move on; otherwise, I could easily get 3 more years out of this thing.
