Yeah, that’s what everyone thought in mgs v too. Until everyone played the game and realized kojima made trailers with most of the cutscenes from the game. The problem with that is you end up showing too much. Cryptic trailers are fun and all until you play the game and see everything that you’ve seen before.

Yeah, I saw people making this connection on Twitter. Given how much Kojima loves movies, it is almost certainly The Crow inspired. Someone even said that the whole coming back from the dead to get revenge thing that Higgs is gonna be doing, was apparently the plot of that movie. And that the character plays a guitar solo on the rooftop. So yeah. DEF The Crow inspired.

Higgs wasn’t at all “underdeveloped” at all in the first game, he was a villain that stayed consistent as villain to be a great one! An over the top grandiose villain works the best when they STAY as a villain and we get their reasoning for why they do what they do, and that’s what makes Higgs so great as a villain character! Like with Orochimaru from naruto whose a great villain and stayed a great character villain to his death/sealed away.

This trailer was mental... In both good and bad ways. The narrative and story looks engaging as the first one was. The actual environments and some gameplay sequences look very impressive, the avalance/the flooding river/the thing flying in front of the moon. But... there is so many whacky additions here that I'm unsure of, the Billy the Puppet character, the David Bowie guitarist, the hand face mask... I'm hoping that the game is a little deeper and fleshed out than just transporting. The first was a very enjoyable game, but after 25 hours I got a little tired of the repetition. Also, beautiful face and boday capture, as well as stunning environments

The original Death Stranding trailers were much more intriguing and exciting. And I'm a fan of that game, especially the gameplay and exploration, but not so much the jumbled narrative by the time it all ended. Now this DS2 trailer is too silly and actually dampens the interest I had in playing it. I would be more likely to grab it on release if I went in blind rather than having watched all the hijinks and boring campiness with Higgs. As someone in the above comments said, this sequel really jumps the shark.
