@@AlpUgurlu Eddie didn't eat Knull, (Eddie's version of Venom in general doesn't actually eat people like adaptions would have you believe) he just inherited the role after killing him with his Captian Universe powers. Eddie as the new King In Black is now as strong as the Beyonders. (and has the duty now of protecting the multiverse from threats like them) To put that into perspective the Beyonders almost destroyed the multiverse completely in Hickman's Secret Wars, even killing the Living Tribunal. (God's/OAA's first defense against multiversal threats)

I hard disagree with Liam on the King in Black storyline, i think Eddie's story in it is very very well constructed within it and he defintely sill has his edge its just not what the story is focused on anymore but he'll still murder everyone in a room

This was a fun podcast. Although I think Ghost Rider Vs. Spawn works a lot more, Venom is a good alt. I do think people sleep on Base Venom heavily though. He was dogging on Ghost Rider even in the 90s and was stated by Johnny to be the muscle in their group when they were hunting down demons. When everyone was captured, Johnny and Danny decided to bring up Venom's intense hatred for Spider-Man to break them free just so he could kill the demons that were attacking Spider-Man lol. Given the hivemind stuff that's being established, the Symbiotes themselves lack souls and even then, the souls of the hosts are beyond anyone's reach as "killing" them will just make them respawn in the hivemind which is only accessible to those who have bonded to Symbiotes prior. Being a King in Black just allows you to form hives of your own and allows for more control over them. That being said, I prefer Ghost Rider Vs. Spawn and Venom Vs. Merkava.

Fr and Venoms heavily underrated because they think Spiderman characters are street lvl and that Spiderman isn’t that strong when really he’s really strong and almost on par with Hulk. And Venom stomps Peter like 8/10 so he is powerful

@@MMkillsINCTV Yeah, exactly! Spider-Man characters usually operate on the streets as it's within their character to do so, but they usually scale above that. Spidey holds back a ton all the time. Like you've said he's held his own against Hulk and so has Venom. Regular Venom was squaring up against Hulk, Ghost Rider and Juggernaut early on in his career. He also ended up beating Juggs while nerfed and the fight gets brought up years later for good measure. This tendency to just underestimate him and Spidey because they don't like leveling cities when they fight isn't really fair when you look at their personalities. Both want to save as many people as possible but just have beef with each other so obviously they'd keep the collateral damage to a minimum. They also both like looking out for the little guy so to speak so they tend to operate in a neighborhood. For Spidey, it's usually somewhere in New York and for Venom it was most often San Francisco. Though I'm a bit iffy on how the Cates run panned out overall, I am glad people are now seeing the potential in power of characters like Venom overall in part thanks to him.

I love the reactions to the events of King in Black. They were as crazy as I had hoped. I will say Liam hating on it is his own opinion but I still find it unfair to just rag on a redemption arc for Venom because the Donny Cates run when read completely really makes the idea of Venom becoming a hero earned. Also there was no synergy between the movies and the comics, Cates pitched everything for his run up to and including King in Black well before the Venom movie releases. Trust me that run is really good and there are ridiculous parts but I find them ridiculous in a badass way. Trust me the King in Black event is one of the best events in recent years. Also to clear some things up, when Cosmic Venom summoned Mjolnir, at that time in continuity, the enchantment was off and suddenly anyone could pick it up. Also the necrosword is the same weapon that Gorr the god butcher used. It bonded to him after Knull was seemingly defeated.

Yeah, unlike what most adaptions would have you believe, Eddie's time as a villain was relatively short and instead Eddie has spent most of his life as a good guy, slowly making his way through the multiple types of anti-hero, mellowing and mellowing out before climaxing into a full hero with the excellent King In Black. Its a saga that rivals Vegeta's redemption but sadly Venom won't get credit for from most people due to adaptions refusing to adapt the character fully, only going as far as 90s era Venom at best or making more villainous and often giving him Carnage's evil plots at worst. Utterly warping people's perception of the character.

Even if, as was said, his run as a villain was comparatively brief, that run *was* an iconic part of the Spider-Man mythos and has shaped people's perceptions of Venom, even to this day.

Eddie's start as "evil Spider-Man" is short lived and people only think he is like that because most other adaptions have warped people's perception of the character by refusing to adapt him properly. Eddie has been a good guy longer than he ever has been a villain, his comics (and Flash's) are great and so is his movies. You may prefer Eddie as a villain like in those adaptions but it means nothing for quality and most of us in the Venom fandom prefer him as a hero. By your logic Ghost Rider should be a villain. The themes are also consistent if you read the comics, Eddie's story is all about redemption.

I’ve *never* thought of Eddie Venom as a full on villain…he’s one of SPIDER-MANS “villains”,but he’s still actually helped Spider Man a few times because there was a bigger threat at the time,and even when it’s just Spider Man,when/if he thinks he’s beaten or killed Spider Man,he’s chill AF,and on his own he’s been shown to be a proper hero multiple times

Ever since Lethal Protector, Eddie has started down a path of redemption, slowly becoming more and more heroic over time till the development climaxed with Donny's run and he became a full hero instead of a anti-hero. Just before Civil War 1 he fully forgave Peter and was on Wolverine's level of morality.

Great Job on Killau Misaka. Now that’s what we like to see Sword fight felt a little janked and stiff to hell but I’m sure that was only because Misaka didn’t exactly have many sprit options for sword fighting movement. Out side of that everything else was amazing
